Tell us something unique/special about your club

Something to do with the club's official nickname?

I would argue that there's no such thing as an official nickname. The club can say 'this is our official nickname' but it doesn't mean anything. It's either a nickname or a proper name, and if adopted officially then it becomes just a proper name. That's the difference between a nickname and a name, the nickname being a casual, unofficial name. :p

Are they not trademarks in most cases?

You can argue it all you want, you're still talking rubbish ;)

Wasn't that Pickles the dog & the world cup?:)

Yup. Was found in a field IIRC.

This great Glasgow institution first saw the light of day in 1876 in Partick, hence the name. Over the next 33 years Thistle operated from various homes, among them Kelvingrove, Jordanvale, Muirpark, Inchview and Meadowside, before moving to Firhill in 1909

The club's fans traditionally come from the North-West area of Glasgow and pride themselves on being anti-sectarian in opposition to the Protestant loyalties of Rangers and the Catholic loyalties of Celtic. Their traditional rivals (other than the Old Firm) are Clyde.

Famous players of the past include Alan Rough, Alan Hansen and Mo Johnston.

Man Utd are as far as I'm aware the only team in Premiership history to change the colour of their shirts at halftime, against Southampton. This one also deserves an entry in a potential "crappest excuses of all time" thread.

Not really, I don't think I've seen any team play in grey since that incident.

Well, I know Chelsea had a disgusting Grey & Orange away kit in the mid90s:

Now that's a touch of class.

In more recent times that bunch of amateurs Real Madrid have also worn a grey strip:

We had what was officially voted the worst kit of all time :)

A nice purple and lime green number  Although we did beat liverpool in it at anfield :)

We are currently the only club in the country to suffer consecutive relegations from the top division to the bottom of the 4th division. :(

Ended up in 1982 with us about 5 minuited from extinction until 8 players tore up their contracts and a new company was formed, Bristol City holdings Plc (1982)

Some Unique Spurs only jobbies:

Only non-league team to ever win the F.A.Cup in 1901.

Only team to succesfully defend the F.A.Cup twice. 1961, 1962, 1981, 1982.

First British team to win a European trophy. 1963 European-Cup-Winners-Cup

First team to do the double. 1961

Unofficial:-

Probably the victims of the biggest voodoo in footy history. Didn't win at Anfield for something like 70 years:eek:

Probably the victims of the biggest injury list for the longest amount of time in footy history.

Here's an amazing statistic for Man City. In 1937-8, they were the top scorers in division 1, but were still RELEGATED!

Spotted that one on http://www.arseweb.com/other/record-breakers.html , which has some very interesting stats, a couple of other ones here:

Most decades in which league has been won by individual captain: 3 (Tony Adams)

Most black players in an English club team: 9
Away to Leeds, 28/09/2002 (see report). The nine were: Cole, Campbell, Lauren, Toure, Vieira, Gilberto, Wiltord, Henry, Kanu

The best bit was it was covered in the USA, were the commentator said Arsenal had a team full of Black men. At that point the director had a camera pan on to Pascal Cygan and Dave Seaman!
Apparently he didn't even mention it!

Reading FC -

At the end of last season had scored the most league points since the start of the Millennium.

Now 2nd behind Man United (341 points). Reading with (337).

Also Reading have had the longest run without conceding, but I can't remember how long it is.
