Could the devils of been removed due to it being satantic!
Honestly, there was a local news item a year or so ago as a local team was forced to change it's sponsor or name for that reason, and it had come from the FA!

LOL, just shows how stupid the FA are sometimes :o

Could be that they've changed it, I did say it could have been done over the last couple of years...

I meant what competition did you mean, can't be the League as surely literally 50+ teams have won that with only English players? Im sure the teams back in the first 30 years or so must have been all English at least, and most were probably all English until the 70s?

Arsenal: the only club with a tube station named after them.

and

regarding he shirt sleeves, the captain picks whether the team will wear long or short sleeve shirts the day before the game.

and (!)

arsenal are the only team to have won the league and fa cup in the same season! (both against sheff wed as it happens!!)

Isn't upton park named after West Ham. Or is it just a place called Upton Park

I presume your talking about the underground station? Upton park, no idea, but Arsenal is the only station to be named after a club. Well the station Arsenal had it's name changed in the 30's after Herbert Chapman asked them to name it after the club.

On another note, is our nickname The Red Devils? I always thought it was Man Utd. In fact, according to www.manutd.com its 'The Reds'. Odd.

It was definitely The Red Devils in the 80's, but it may have changed.

Only just - Queens Park/Queens Park Rangers...Tottenham Hale/Tottenham Hotspur...;)

Hmm, and isn't there a station called West Ham? Or is it just East Ham? I can't be bothered checking.

Man City was the only English club to win the championship title without a single foreigner in the squad.

Since when though? Up until twenty years ago, virtually every team in the country had been bereft of foreigners, bar Scots.

Both named after the area not the club.

Are you assuming that or do you know for certain? Personally, I think you're right, but if we don't know for certain then someone with some energy could check. :D
