Tempest Rising - a new Command & Conquer for 2023

I picked this up on Friday. The developers must have absolutely no idea how to make a modern RTS, because after 4 hours of the campaign, I didn't even feel vaguely like I was caught in a crude machine designed to push me towards multiplayer so they could sell me cosmetics. Seriously, it's nice to have an RTS take its campaign seriously (yes, Homeworld 3 and Company of Heroes 3, that was a dig at you).

It is indeed very fast paced. It reminds me more of Command & Conquer 3 than the first two installments or the Red Alert games. I don't have a problem with that, as I found C&C3 a lot of fun.

grabbed on cd keys for 22 quid and just started playing it, seems like the cheesey old command and conquer which is a bonus and it runs superb, the first unreal engine 5 game where i had to limit the fps :)

how long did it take to finish?

i had a look and theres 11 missions for each of the 2 sides campaigns so 22 missions in total :)

really enjoying it, i think its more command and conquer than red alert 3 :)

edit:
the missions seem to be lengthy as well with multiple objectives and map expansions when you complete a objective, brilliant game and the harvesters and other units seem a lot smarter than old school c&c as in u dont have to micro manage engineers etc just grab a group with a engineer in it and they wont run in to attack but stay behind and repair your tanks etc

and anti air only units will try and ;distance them selves a bit and actually shoot air craft, little things like that make a big difference, there is also no constant your harverster is under attack coz their smarter, playing it for the campaings and getting my 22 quids worth easy, im in retro heaven with loads of quality of life improvements:)
