Terra Nova

I'm not usually one to judge a TV series too quickly ( after all, all my fav's took me a few episodes to get into ala: The Shield, The Wire, Dexter, Boardwalk, BSG etc) ... but as everyone said in the thread already - the premise is a good one, let down by **** poor ... erm... everything.

Not watching this again and I'm off to find somehting else!

Other than the Commanders Hairdresser fees, where is the $4Million per Episode going? It's a cringe-worthy cliché-filled cheesefest with cardboard-cut-out characters. It's like 'My First Sci-Fi for Dummies'. It is almost laughably bad. :p

I love IMDB reviews

IMDB comic said:
Ultimately, this is third-rate science fiction that's about as entertaining as watching a turned-off television. It may be worth it if you create a drinking game of "name the cliché," but you wouldn't make it over a half hour before passing out in a drunken stupor.

Sorry to spam, but this is just getting more hilarious by the episode list:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2070472/

"When Elisabeth, Jim, Malcolm and Taylor investigate radio silence at a nearby scientific outpost, they discover an outbreak of a mysterious virus causing memory loss, paranoia and eventually death. The group must work together to find a cure before they lose their sanity and all of Terra Nova is infected."

Shock horror, no one saw this one coming! :D

I never really thought about it but what excuse did the dinosaurs have for not eating her out there?

You can tell this is going to be a show that won't take any risks with things like an interesting storey, at least it's not as dull as outcasts was i guess.
After seeing EP 3 I am more confused. So they are all trained how to survive outside at night if you get trapped. One key point is dinos are scared of fire. Everyone is trained on how to start fires plus common sense says you carry around lighters in your survival kit if adventuring outside.

So why is it every single time we see someone outside at night with dinos no one has a flare, fire, or anything of the like? Not to mention wouldnt Flame Throwers be way more effective then guns?

You would think if your car breaks down or has to stop at night the first thing you do is light a fire.

Still enjoying the show mind you even if it is really silly.

I can't be bothered pulling this turd of an episode apart point by point, suffice it to say it was complete and utter cack in every conceivable way.

I might give it a couple more weeks, but realistically the signs don't look good. What a disappointment. :(

Wow a lot of hatred for this show. Yea a lot of the SFX aren't that good but I'm still quite enjoying it. There isnt a lot of good sci-fi shows on TV atm :(

This is the episode that was getting me very angry! Hasn't aired in the UK yet has it(?) so I won't say anything but it's beyond belief and from start to finish you'll want to punch something!

What the **** how can this be getting over 7 million viewers in the US but Boardwalk Empire not getting over 3 million?!

Says a lot about the US audience who are probably just a bunch of teenagers that find reading anything more than reading a comic a taxing exercise. So they have the perfect audience for this.

Networks. Boardwalk Empire is HBO, which you pay extra for, whereas you get Terra Nova on any standard cable package.

HBO might not get as many viewers on the night, but they also make a ton of revenue from DVD and after sales.

Episode story lines aren't really that imaginitive, but there's a lack of series to watch on TV atm

Breaking Bad, Dexter, Person of Interest, Homeland, Community, Modern Family, Always Sunny in PHD plus the rest; there is plenty to chew on that doesn't suck at the moment.
