Yeah I've got 1 of those too. First chest I found before I even had armour, a suspicious bloody eye ><

For some reason my game crashed when I first tried to connect to the server yesterday.

Can people stop bringing on existing characters. That means no offline characters where you've hoarded tons of gear solo even if it is the new patch and no transferring your bloody items to dig a tunnel down to hell. The point is to start from scratch and play it through properly.

Great. You decided you can't be bothered last night (according to your earlier post) so you came on to the server with an advanced character - which is completely against the spirit of the rules we set out and basically messed up the game for the other players.

What on earth made you think you were being reasonable? It's not really the sort of thing I would expect from you, Neil.

If it's possible to do I'm going to consider it (when TMod is updated/I've checked up on it). I doubt I'll do it if it forces current softcore characters to re-roll though - I would prefer the server to just treat all characters as softcore instead of blocking people from playing.
 
This time I found an enchanted boomerang in my first underground chest, so I managed to explore quite a lot and get loads of gold and silver.

Then I ran out of torches and now have to find my way back without dying and losing all my coins. I explored the surface all the way to the corruption and then went down just before it, so I'm rather far away from home, also playing on a medium instead of a small map this time.

Edit - Oh crap!



Dont think I'll be risking getting those stars yet. :(

It's a bit cheaty but you can just log out/back in to get back to your spawn point (unless they've changed that).
 
Ok these potion hotkeys are doing my head in. It keeps glitching and using potions while I'm typing. Wasted several healing potions, an archery and hunter potion now.

Tbh I think that people should appreciate the updates, people still get anywhere between 20 and 40 hours of fun gameplay, which is great considering the low price of the game, any additional free content is a bonus. Was it patch 1.0.4 or 1.0.5 that only took around two weeks to be completed? It's hardly a long time to wait imo. 1.0.6 took longer than previous patches because it was quite a large overhaul in the game. The next patch will hopefully just contain bug fixes, and a new biome/boss/items, which shouldn't take long at all.

Underneath my house is a shaft going down, it's not completed yet. When it's finished it'll go all the way to hell, as well as have an infinite water and infinite lava tank. Plus the tunnel across the map also. I thought making a tunnel like we did on the last OcUK world would be nice, so that people can run long distances without worrying about terrain, and hermes boots will make trips even easier. On single player I would've made a sky bridge instead, but that would stop fallen stars/meteors landing near the surface of the world, hence making a tunnel underground instead.

If he had high health then it's quite possible that one would appear relatively quickly. Alternatively, there may be some hacky way to make it appear (this seems unlikely).

Either way, the issue is with his general conduct in regards to bringing in a non-new character and spoiling things. If this were the Minecraft server and I had better admin tools he would be banned now.
 
So much for the new characters rule... someone has been shifting gear from other characters on and has built himself a nice golden house and I'm pretty sure is working on a hellevator. You've got SP mode to do that.
 
Seeing as I lost all my gear on mediumcore (very annoying), I got sick of that and added items to my new character from my offline storage. Is that so bad? It isn't like I am going to go all out and take any items, ore or anything else from the server? Just building a house and mining to hell :) - I can do that with starter items if need be.

Was the summoning of the Goblin Army wrong YES i admit it was wrong of me to do that i'm sorry, but i wanted to test it out it lasted 10mins and that was that.

You should've said " NEW CHARACTER FROM THIS SERVER ONLY "

What if i made a new character from your server, then played all through the early hours on my own SP then came back to yours will you shaft players for that too because i've found good gear?

Starting to like the game more now. Still even with a silver pickaxe i die from things when they gang up on me 1 small black blob and 2 skeletons were raping me. :( One of em put a torch out too, grr.

Neil and Captain, its my understanding its new characters starting from scratch (fresh build with nothing from past games) so everyone is starting with just the basics that ur given when entering the server with a fresh character. Least thats how i read it.

This tbh? Mine IS a new character. The thing is, IN NO WAY will I interfere with any other character on the server. I am not there to be an arse, just want a little house and a small mineshaft :)

Mine is a new character started from scratch. I just got some stuff from offline also? I figured I would leave all items/ore etc. generated on the server for everyone else.
