The server seems to have really split up. The point of the new character server was to play through the game together, but most people seem to be soloing it. A certain someone brought a musket and a flintlock pistol from their Single Player world, which are obviously very powerful weapons for a new character. At first people were exploring together, now it's not like that very much.
On the old server, on their first or one of their first nights, I walked through Smurf (skippi90), Murray, and somebody else through most of the game. They collected copper/iron/silver/gold, took on EoC and EoW together, went to the dungeon (though they died a lot) and went to the Underworld. That's what I was hoping this server would be like, but it hasn't turned out that way. On the 1.0.4 and 1.0.5 servers, OcUK had a main base for everyone, on this one every man and his dog has their own base. I don't see the point in playing on a multiplayer server where everyone is divided.
There's not a lot wrong with Neil's base imo. The lava/spikes are dangerous, but he has provided safe passage for other players. Maybe the passage should be a little higher up, same as the nearby ground. Or his base should be moved a little bit higher, up in the sky a little. It's not like new players will find it impossible to get around. I'm disappointed in Evilsod. He's been quick to point out Neil's shortcomings, yet, as said above, he's destroyed several Shadow Orbs, and has defeated the Eater of Worlds, what, three or four times? He didn't make any mention of giving loot to other players at all, or leaving some orbs for everyone else, he seems fixated on getting an Orb of Light for himself.
On the old server, we made a horizontal tunnel, obsidian generator, large castle, and that large water generator project as a community, several people were involved in them things. Given the lack of cooperation on a server created for people to explore and work together when compared to the last server, I've decided not to play on the server. If anybody wants someone to go exploring with them, add me on Steam. If I'm online I'll likely come help, whether it be on the OcUK server or a private server. Other than that I shall stick to Single Player, I have my own in-game projects I wish to finish.
