Terraria - Dig, fight, explore, build

I smashed a bunch in the 2 areas of Corruption either side of spawn. The one to the far side of the jungle I couldn't actually reach because I could never make it across the jungle without being crushed by a Turtle ><

The Twins spawning overnight in HM was a little harsh but nowhere even CLOSE to how insane it was when the Solar Eclipse happened...

⦁ Clay pot dupe no longer works
⦁ Snipers will now drop sniper rifles
⦁ Opening doors will no longer cause a room to be unsuitable
⦁ Hardmode summon items will no longer drop from monsters that have been spawned from statues
⦁ Chests, crystal hearts, and statues should no longer spawn on ice
⦁ Crafting recipe for sticky glowsticks has been fixed
⦁ Pumping honey will no longer turn honey into water
⦁ Fixed trashing coin dupe
⦁ Shadow orb and fairy bell no longer show a duration
⦁ If you place a bed somewhere that would cause you to not spawn without breaking through blocks you will now get a message when trying to set your spawn point letting you know the bed is not in a suitable position.
⦁ Fixed a bug with cooking marshmallows with your mouse
⦁ Blackout debuff can no longer be removed by right clicking it
⦁ Slightly reduced how much memory the map requires on large worlds
⦁ You can no longer use actuators to deactivate temple blocks before killing Plantera
⦁ The flare gun will no longer light up when you are out of torches
⦁ You can now craft battle potions with vertebrae
⦁ Lihzahrd altar should now spawn and use power cells properly
⦁ Minimum particle display has been increased for certain conditions
⦁ Switch duplication no longer works
⦁ Notes from the magical harp now count as magic and should trigger the spectre set bonus
⦁ Bombs will no longer blow up chlorophyte
⦁ You can no longer break into Lihzahrd temple with chlorophyte drill

Would be better if extra fine touches were added too, like automatically open and close doors as you walk thru them - same as on the Android version. Also, with the mouse pointing in a direction, you could automatically mine 3 blocks (center, upper and lower blocks) with the mouse button held. Again an Android novelty which I miss. :)
 
Well... wishing we'd properly explored the Dungeon now and scattered torches throughout it.

That place absolutely wrecks you. And if it wasn't bad enough a Paladin turned up ><
 
I'm guessing we're able to bring stuff from our singleplayer worlds onto the server?

All the ore seems to have gone and I'm getting destroyed by hardmode mobs because I've still got tin armour and a copper sword. :p
 
I'm running a small server for XSG and after the update the bugger didn't save the new map. Few guys played for a few hours, I updated to 1.2.0.2 and the new map disappeared.

How often does the server save the map?

There's a cobalt set somewhere in my house you can have. There's also about 20 hearts in the chest closest to the door.
 
At this point bringing in anything up to what you'd have at the unlock of hard mode is okay. End game stuff is still a no-no though. Unless people have seriously tapped out the world completely.
 
The ore is never gone. The map is gigantic and finding it is sometimes a bit of a pain. Its so hard to spot the correct ore when using a Spelunker potion too.

But yeah, bringing in anything pre-HM and anything up to Adamantite/Titanium really won't effect anything. If you start bringing in Hallowed gear however when we haven't killed the bosses yet... :p
 
Heh. Yeah the endgame kinda accelerates on HM. Magic seems to be the name of the game this time round. Melee you just don't stand a chance in hell. A combination of Ranged/Magic will see you through but once you start exploring the HM Dungeon and get spells like Magnet Sphere drop your kill potential goes through the roof. Once you also get things like the Shadowbeam Staff and the Diabolist spell on top of Spectre Armour you are almost unkillable.
 
Is HM not survivable for a new char? Still debating whether or not to log on :p

I have some shadowscale armor and weapons in a chest in my house. I can also craft some basic hardmode armor if needs be but you might prefer to gather that yourself. I've also got a selection of trinkets that are spare
