Terraria - Dig, fight, explore, build

At what point would you guys venture in to the dungeons?

I currently have full gold armour, 300hp, 150mana and my strongest weapons are phaseblade, waraxe, vilethorn and starfury.

Shadowscale armor, Muramasa blade and 200hp potions and orb of light.

That is the way I survive in the dungeon. Obviously Molten armor would be better but with Gold you are very unlikely to survive in Hell for very long.

Muramasa is great because it swings very quick and you can just hold down and it will carry on swinging.

You replied to a post that's over a month old. Since then, Aedus has managed the OcUK MineCraft server that I run and probably played the game for far more hours than is health :p

I went on earlier but I'm still only about a third through my SP map, perhaps less, if there's an arranged play time/night then obviously I'll show up.

If you have any flail weapons, the next step (well it was for me anyway) is to kill eater of worlds (or the eyball boss first if you havent already), create nightmare pickaxe, mine meteorite, and so on.
Dungeon is fine with full shadow armour or better, with molten pickaxe or meteor/molten hamaxe as weapons. (or good regular weapon)
 
I have the Meteor suit and Shadow armour now, killed two Eaters of Worlds and had three meteors land in the space of an hour. :D
 
I might play tomorrow, haven't played in AGES and the reason is the developers haven't really given us stuff for replayability. Oh look a wizards hat and new clothes, ok yawn

How does multiplayer work if I'm a noob. I believe that I carry my character across (even though I have next to nothing) but will all the easy to get stuff not already have been taken?
 
Just getting into Terraria, got it on Steam this afternoon.
Just learning the ropes, seems pretty good though.

Any chance of getting the multi player password? Fancy some team action!
