I want to get some friends into Minecraft but I dont know how to "sell" it to them.

Is it worth them playing Minecraft classic or is the gap between classic and vanilla too much now to give a fair representation?
(Sorry Op to go OT)
Someone please explain how the automatic tree farm works
How do noobs get up to the floating island?
Woah, just had my first encounter with the Eye of Cthulhu and it handed me my arse - the boomerang wasn't good enough!
