Have you set the room up properly? Similar rules to making a house for an NPC.

I get kicked for using healing potion... is it blocked in some way?

OK.. this is weird. When I use the hotkey (I set mine to "E") it crashes. If I place it in the quick access bar as before 1.0.5 and use healing potion then.. it is fine.

But the buff keys work OK. :/

Sounds like a client bug rather than the server then :/

My friend is staying over mine so I have been unable to play. Hopefully he'll be going today. I created a new char to play with on SP mode. 1.5hours after creation I have silver helm/greaves and have nearly got enough for the chest. Need to get a decent weapon then I can take on the eye (still using copper atm). Then corruption/jungle/dungeon then underworld. Shouldn't take more than a few hours.

Wish there was more content!

I can't get enough bone serpents to spawn now in 1.0.5. Is there any way to speed up the process?

I still need a sunfury and flamelash

I find that as well. Hell use to be so hard with loads of imps spawning and bone serpents just crushing you.

I literally travelled the whole of hell yesterday but when I got towards the end by accident I dropped my Muramasa into lava so I was stuck with the great fiery sword which is too slow to take on all of the hell bats plus I also forgot my cobalt shield so I got knocked into the lava and died

I found a dark lance/spear though which is pretty cool in a golden chest down there though.

If anyone hasn't seen it yet, take a look! Check out the chapel with chairs and a terraria cross. The secret underground jungle beneath the chapel, the swimming pool with diving board!. Dungeons and the hells pits

Or have a sleep in the many long rooms and a sit in the dining area

Its quite literally a city as well due to the size of it. Truly massive. I'm gonna expand the top part later on when I get chance and Improve upon the hell tunnel I made if possible (by filling out the sides so if you get attacked on the way down you dont get punted sideways lol)

Nice work to all involved though so far in making it, looks awesome.

ps neil, our angel idea didn't quite work as its missing from the shrine bit lol :S

If anyone wants any specific items, gimme a shout - I've been playing on a single player map, and I've managed to get multiples of almost all but the top-end items

I've just bought the game based on this thread and all the positive reviews about. After an hour of play I can't see what all the fuss is about if I'm honest.

I've followed a newbie guide and built a shelter and have started digging around for materials. I've even made a few things. All those excellent review scores can't be wrong so what am I missing? Do I just need to invest a bit more time?

Sucks at start but after a good few hours of getting better equipment you start doing more adventurous stuff such as going to the corrupted, underground jungle, hell and fight the many bosses and some of the timed events are quite fun as well such as the goblin army.

Digging deeper gets harder and harder but it is fun. But once you become Uber you get bored unless you plat multiplayer and do PvP and build crazy stuff.

hey peeps, though id add to the new world, i noticed there was a chest with loads of hellstone in it, what ive done is removed the stone pillars to get to the chest, filled the lava right up and added spikes al over the room too, i changed the chests to gold ones and filled the first with hellstone from my sp world, hopefully it can be used as a bank, should be quite hard to break into if you dont break blocks, possibly make the outer walls obsidian too. heres a pic of the work...

I noticed all that hellstone lol. Didn't take any as I don't need it anymore, must have been about 400 bars in there! Would be tempted if I were a noob. tbh it's more fun to get items yourself though
