Terraria - Dig, fight, explore, build

I'm still debating whether or not to get this. My brother has it and I've watched him play it a few times, and it does look exciting. I like randomised dungeon explorers like this and Minecraft, but I'm also a bit low on cash right now... And I want OoT3D when it comes out next month.

I've made a VERY long drop and it's sign posted, if you think you can make the fall jump in the hole ;)

Also made a safe house with an arms dealer !

Died in lava, love this game but it could do with more enemies but i wouldn't play this game on my own it'd get very boring fast
 
Me and my housemate have been playing like all day. We found a shadoworb thing but cant get to it because it's surrounded by that rock you can't mine. Any suggestions?
 
When your digging a hole say under a house you've made, how do you stop zombies and slimes getting into the pit? Only happens when I start to get quite deep but theres no way I can see where they can spawn from :S

The multiplayer on this is really poorly implemented, it's taken me ages to test a good 20-30 servers and every one is full.

Pretty cool game other than that.
