So the new patch will not have any new content, it's mostly a magic/difficulty overhaul for the game. I like the changes, but patch 1.1 sounds like it will take a lot longer than 1.0.6, which has already taken a lot longer than some players are willing to wait for in this kind of game. Can't wait for the dungeon to be improved, it's a cakewalk atm! The bosses too, does seem silly that you can beat the first two bosses with little/no gear, giving you shadow gear, enough to handle anything in the game.
 
The cursed skulls are just annoying. They hurt when they touch you but take absolutely no effort to kill, its just the fact that they attack so often it gets ridiculous. Its the same with the harpies really. If they intend to put an outrageous 60s cooldown on healing items then they need to do something to curb the insane spam of certain mobs. They are never hard to kill, its just hard to do anything else at the same time which is what gets you killed.

Well, it sounds like there's plenty of new content in there but I think what the guy was trying to say was that beyond what we've already heard about we shouldn't expect new enemies/etc. The balances and general overhaul will make the game far better though, from the sounds of things.

On that note, I would love to make the OcUK server a 'new characters only' world when the new patch comes out. Alternatively, I may create two servers - one for new chars and another for old chars...it kind of depends on the backlash from the idea of a new chars only server :)

That's why I have had no interest on your server previously because I find it boring when everything has been defeated/done on the server and new characters can just get free stuff from maxed out players just defeats the purpose really.
 
Didn't mean to sound like the new patch would be useless, only that it won't add any new places to explore or enemies to fight. I've played through another 3 characters in the last week or two, and it's pretty darn boring for me now. :( From what Blue has said, the next patch after 1.0.6 shouldn't take too long, given that 1.0.6 is a big overhaul. Hopefully within 2-3 weeks after 1.0.6, 1.1 will be out with the new content.

Put me down for the new character server if you make one. :)

I'm not convinced some of them will work that well in the current state of the game.

The mana system is basically useless at low level because it regens faster the more you have (not that this matters much as you don't get any spells anyway). I think they'd of been better off making certain spells learnable so you didn't have to lug around some random item in the event you might need it. From what I've seen so far most of the spells are largely useless and simply pale in comparison to the Vilethorn which hits multiple times to pin an enemy in place and passes through solid objects while being very cheap.

Guess 1 plus side of the new potion system is it might be worthwhile taking along regen potions now.

Sounds like most people will be happy creating a new character so I imagine any server for old ones would be pretty empty most of the time.
