Tesco or Morrisons?

lol @ the people who suggest they only shop at Waitrose or Sainsbury's.
Even if you had enough money to get everything you needed from there comfortably. Why would you - it's a pointless waste of cash? You could get the same product at a Tesco's or Morrisons etc for, sometimes, half the price.
Sainsbury's is a joke for prices.

Waitrose > M+S > Sansburys > Tesco > Asda > Morrissons > Aldi/Lidle
As a student I can't afford to shop at the top end (and there's aren't any Waitrose branches near me, but I do occasionally use M+S food).
Generally I use Sainsburys or Tesco. I find Sainsburys generally a little better for fresh produce, and about the same for everything else, the produce may vary store by store.
Morrissons I always found to be a bit wierd. Odd layout, things look like they're done a little cheaply etc.
Edit: I should add that although lidl/aldi are generally the cheapest and their stores are obvious made to te cheapest budget possible, there are the odd one or two bargains on some stuff that on the continent would be considered a mainstream name brand.

Have grown up with Tescos but Morrisons always have yummy food and reasonable prices too.

When I was in Plymouth i pretty much had no choice but to shop at Sainsbury's, since it is the only big supermarket in the City Center. There is a Tesco Metro in the middle but its tiny, so most weekly shop is done at sainsbury's.
Then when i was semi-living at a Friend's place in North London I went to Waitross, I had a job then so it wasn't too bad. It was also the cloest supermarket in the area along with Safeways, but Safeways was always jammed packed and they didn't have much fresh stuff. So i paid a little bit more for better food.
When I was living in Brighton I had tend to go to either Sainsbury or Somerfields as they are opposite each other on London Road. Somerfields had good deals with you got the clubcard, so i tends to go there usually but Sainsbury do beat it on some produce in price, need to check both for comparisons sometimes.
Back home in Hereford there is a Choice of all of the big ones, M&S, Tesco (2 of them, both massive), Morrisons, Sainsbury's, and they are building an ASDA. All within 1 miles radius of each other at most, never known any other pace in the country with so many big supermarkets so close to each other. My dad tends to get different produce from different supermarkets, since they are so close to each other.

tescos for prices, morrisons for > quality in some things.
one thing im sure is sainsburys sucks morrisons beats it any day hands down.

I wish i had a Morrisons near my apartment at the moment. Only got a massive Tesco's extra, would trade it in for a Morrisons any day.

I have done extensive research on grocery shopping, and the best thing to do is go down to aldi/lidl/netto buy some stuff, see what you like and what isn't so nice. Do your shopping from there (usually its hard to do a full shop there as they dont carry much) the rest of the stuff you can buy from the major places.
See what you want, look it up on the websites mentioned above and see who has it on offer (if no one has it on offer sainsburys/tesco/morrisons etc prices are pretty much the same)
If its on offer, go forth to the designated supermarket and buy!
www.netto.co.uk lists the offers that occur every monday and thursday, e.g from today they have 12 cans of pepsi for £2 which is a billy bargain.

Asda - just cheap and resonably descent quality - they do the best ever cookies (asda own extra special cookies - 2 packs for 1.50) sooo nice *drools*

I've never been shopping for food in my life because I've got a wife but we have a massive Tesco about half a mile away (not far from OCUK) but my wife still goes to Morrisons which is about 7 miles away. I've never asked why.

Thats the way i would list them. I only really buy fresh food and tesco is shockingly bad for fresh meat, fruit and veg. Morrisons meat (especially steak etc) is on a par with sainsburys. IMO you get what you pay for, tesco may be cheaper than sainsburys but the food is almost ineddible in comparison.

I detest them both, but if iI had to choose I would say Tesco.
