Gahhh i see lol, my problem is i get to about 0.2miles to where the finish is and some moron driver jumps out in front of me...now doing 190mph in a Ford GT is nice but trying to slow down or swerving doesnt really help...even slamming the brakes on hard cant stop from clipping the other driver or going into him head on.
Dammit it, always happens to me within the last few miles of each transport mission. Last night i did a 90k one and i must have re-done it about 10 times as i kept getting cut off :(, so just re-started it but after the 10th time i gave up and made do with 85k instead of the full 90k....bloody AI drivers :p.

One thing i did notice as i was doing a challenge, where your racing against other AI drivers...if you go off the side once too often the gps goes a bit nuts ie you no longer have the checkpoints and it keeps telling you that your driving the wrong way. Found out last night as i was doing a race, it was a very twisty track through the hills...take it home or something i think its called. You have 4 other cars racing u plus a motorbike. Also found the gps has a hard time keeping up with you when you blasting down the road at near enough 200mph.

REmember the car delivery missions are not timed so you don't have to cane it everywhere.

Hehe i know:p, but i just have this urge whenever i see a straight open road ahead of me..to cane the living daylights out of the Ford GT as it sounds sublime at full pelt...that engine sound makes me tingle :p. But i cant help it then out of the blue some driver pops out...swerves into me causing me to have an accident.
Really i should drive slower but i cant help it, got this urge for speed.

Also one thing that i find quite amusing is that if you go by a cop car at a high speed...why dont they give chase?? lol...i mean im doing 180 mph when i blast by them but unless i cause havoc by crashing they dont seem interested :p.

Im hoping the TDU developers will give us a weather pack ie rain, snow etc etc....i know it doesnt snow in Hawaii but still would be interesting if they gave us some rain to drive and also night time driving as that would be tres cool.

The GPS hasn't gone funny. It's because you have gone off the road and therefore completely missed the checkpoint. You can only go through the checkpoint if your actually on the road. Hence why it was telling you that you were going the wrong way.

Correctamundo, I found that out myself two nights ago. Was annoying as I was winning at the time, but it does stop people trying to take silly routes to get an advantage.

Yeh i figured that out, managed to win the first race but found that i didnt actually win it as i missed out on 5 checkpoints:p. After about 10 times of trying i finally managed to get 2nd place...damn motorbike dude kept getting the inside line on me and took me right at the end...stupid long gearing caused me to lose that race but i was happy enough with 2nd place as im on the pro level and from what im seeing the AI tends to get better as you move up through the ranks.
Saying that though there is one race where i managed to find a cheat route, the gps doesnt go funny when i cut the corners by going into the grass....that was quite good as i finally beat the driver with the Aston martin i think.

Now i just need to get some more money to buy another house as i splashed 45k on a ducati bike and some more on the the lambo murcie coupe...which at the moment seems to be my fave car...handling is brilliant for AWD car and again sounds lovely.
Only thing i dont like about the lambo is the seating position within the car itself even after playing about with the settings...the wheel seems a bit too big incar. But then i dont really use that view, tend to use the bumper view as its more exciting and a bit more realistic speed wise.

Get the big map out that came with the game, it lists the tuner shops on there so you can find them easier :)

Theres a map??:eek::p

Tbh i havent bothered to open up the map, the map within the game seems pretty good and can find places pretty easily.
Mind you theres an airport at the top of the island, its got a long stretch of road that you can have a high speed cruise...just a shame you cant actually get inside the airport and get on the runway to race a few planes hehe.
 
Talking of things on the map, is there only 1 paint shop? I want a nice metallic paint on my Enzo but the paint shop near the crater won't support me! (muppets!)

Any ideas or is it tough luck.

There's a standard paint shop on the right side of the map, who will only paint your car factory colours. There is also a luxury paint shop near the south end of the map, who will paint your car any colour your want. I don't think there are any others (though I've only found about 40% of the roads, so it could be hidden somewhere).

There a couple more standard ones I think, but AFAIK only the one 'deluxe' shop.
