Test Drive Unlimited Gameplay Thread

Some degree of driving aid is almost a prerequisite for time trials/races. Always leave it off for cruising, though :)

Lol, I got through all of the model missions, all of the offline races, all of the speed camera and 3 away from all of the time trials before I needed to turn it on, not bad for me :)
Just have to do the 2 long time trials and the dreaded Tantalus, then only the parcel delivery and male hitchhikers to complete all offline challenges.

That car is absolutely dire, the noise it makes is annoying as anything.

does everyone play on the same server type thing in the game>????

Yep, everyone plays on the same server.

Hmmm ... Atari might have a lawsuit against them soon :p
Tantalus is driving me nuts, and several times the controller has gone flyng across the room, its just ridiculous

It seems you have to have a lot of luck with the way the traffic falls or you haven't a hope.

And why is it at times the briefest toch on the roadside will knock 15 pts off, when most times its just 1 or 2, likewise you squeeze between 2 cars, lightly knocking a mirror, and bang, -20 pts ... the same as a head-on

At this rate I will be supplying free beer for an evening to anyone that can come round and do it :D

Yep, remember that track. It took me a good 10 or so tries. mY only advice would be go for control and forget about speed. If you've lost half of your points before u get to the end of the hill, restart. once you get past the mountain bit/winding roads the course isn't that hard really.

I used the enzo and was constantly a good 5 seconds off the time required.

10 tries lol .. if only.

It doesn't work for me .. keep it all under control and way too slow.
I have found I have to take risks and hope nothings coming ... I tend just to restart if I collect more than -25 pts before I get off the mountain .. and need to hit the crossroads at the bottom of the mountains around 3.30 max.

I seem to do my best times with a stage 3 CCR, or the Merc DTM.
I tried most other things but they work best ... probably more consistant in the merc though.
I just seem to get screwed by the traffic most times :o

I did one run just 0.60 off gold with the CCR (and lotsa points off) ... I think it was the first run with the CCR, havent got that close since

Use the enzo stage 3 tuned. It has the best brakes in the game and comes near the top for handling/acceleration. This is car that worked best for me as i could accelerate into a corner and stop pretty much straight away. Don't hold acclerate for too long either as it is a powerful car, use short controller bursts and ALWAYS have you finger on the brake, as you need to use it loads on this monster of a course.

If you make it down to the bottom and only loose 25 pts i would considor that pretty good tbh. I wouldn't even look at the clock either, just concentrate on driving without losing points. The second half the course defo isn't as hard.

Mercedes Benz SLR with $50,000 two tone matallic paint = pure wowness!

You'll have a hard time completing Tantalus with that thought imo :) Play it safe, preserve your sanity and stick with a s3 Enzo ;)
