Test Drive Unlimited Gameplay Thread

If you have all the downloadable content, then these are pretty good:

G - Shelby Daytona/Lambo Miura
F - Audi TT
E - Nissan Skyline
D - Aston Martin DB9 Volante (Audi RS4 is my choice for just cruising around the island)
C - Ferrari 612 (TVR Sagaris is ok, I cant control it)
B - RUF RT12
A - Enzo Ferrari

These are my favourites. The Saleen is best for acceleration, but I prefer the handling of the Enzo.

I've just bought my 2nd house and I'm saving up for a 'good car'. I have what I think is a good G, F, E and D type but I'm really struggling with courier and hitchhiker missions and speed camera missions. I have...

G - Lamborghini Muira P4000SV
F - Alfa Romeo (my first car)
E - Nissan R34 Skyline
D - Aston Martin DB9

Will saving and getting an enzo etc really help with these? I've been trying with my Aston Martin DB9 but I've struggled despite driving pretty well imo. I find it quite a slidy car, or is it me? Or what should I aim for next? A C type car or something else?

what speed trap ones?

i use my B class chevy (paid 70,000) does all ones i've found really easy,

i just spent everything :P

got mclaren f1 GTR, and enzo also that 2,000,00 house ;)

also spent 60,000 on a paint job, my f1 now purple with green :D

My current cars
1x Mclarren F1 GTR
1x Enzo
2x Audi TT
1x Chevrolet 206 Coupe <- been great buy and money maker (keep doing 170MPH speed trap) get 15,000

I done a lot of the open class missions/hitchiker etc with a lambo gallardo spyder stage 3, I found very predictable and fast enough :)

A little foible i found .... when you look on the map for friends, you can see them on map, but not when you are on the road as I mentioned before .... but if you turn it back to all then you can see them on the road ???

Well I had a bit of fun last night. I got the new car packs and bought myself the RUF 12 something or other. Stage 3 tuned it and thought this is pretty quick. Until of course I attempted to out drag someone in the Koneisegg (sp?!) CCR stage 3, he went past me like I wasn't moving (I was doing 225mph) :o

may not be on now until end of week and even then not for long as on holiday for a week.

Hopefully will try and get a couple of challenges in though!

Yep tuned koni is (IIRC) about 270 mph top end, but it doesn't accelerate as fast as some, and need a good stretch of road to hit that.

I still need to get some intra-club races for achievments, as I haven't managed to hook up with any of you yet ;)

Begbo, It wont let me accept you into the club as apparantly you are in one of your own.

I am hoping for another car pack as I have just about all I want in game now ... a Ferrari F40 + F50 (esp Convertable), Buggati Veyron, BMW M1, Lambo Diablo etc would be good :)

soory made the club, as couldn't find my friend (thanks for the advice) and for the gamer points. Will delete tonight after work. ;)

Just finished off the single player stuff, just got those multi/club ones and I've got everything :D

I'm on just now, if anyone fancies a go tonight.

Bought myself a Cheverolet Covrette C6 Coupe and tuned it to level 3.
Now, this has made life a bit easier. Previously I just couldn't do hitchhiker and courier missions but I've managed quite a few now. I do find many of the hitchhiker ones a right pain as traffic can be quite random and you only need to make one small mistake to make it difficult for yourself.

Got about $500k now and thinking about a Saleen S7 next to do those couple of Saleen challanges in the top right corner. How much will it cost to tune, and is it worth it?

I've also unlocked that Island Tour 118m race, blimey! Is it worth going for in my Covette or should I wait? What did you guys use to do it?

For both the long races, get a Kawasaki ZX10 or MV Augusta F4 stage 3 tuned.
I cant recall how much to st3 the Saleen, but it aint cheap, I think around 200K.
If you can keep it on the road, its one of the quickest cars in game.

No way mate. The cars that I raced were IIRC Zonda, McLaren F1 and Enzos. Even in a class 3 corvette you would have to be a super quick driver to beat those. I done the Island tour in an Enzo which was no problem at all.

Thanks. I think I'll wait, save and buy an enzo and get it tuned. Seems like it would make a lot of the courier, hitchhiker and open race events much easier.

Right, a lot more into this now. Have an Enzo tuned to level 3 and want to join this little ol' club of yours.

I have to say some of the time trials are hair ripping hard, lol, I manage them in the end but the ones with traffic can be as much about luck as driving well.

I just completed the "Road to Yourself" or something one. Any car but 7 miles in 3 minutes. First try I was 30 seconds over! Found the Ferrari tuner and then managed it on my 4th go with .2 seconds to spare!

There's a D class one I'm struggling with. Can't remember what it's called but 5 odd miles with traffic down windy roads in 3 minutes or so. Probably need to get my Aston tuned before trying again but I'm constantly 15 seconds over. Any tips if anyone can remember it (or figure out what the hell I'm going on about).

Great game though!

I think the DBR9 is D?
If so yep tune that up and that'll be the car to use :)

Cheers. That's the car I'm driving but haven't found the tuner yet, will sort that out asap. What about this club, when you next going to be on? (take it we both need to be on at the same time or can I just drive somewhere and fill in an app?)
