Tevez hands in transfer request

If he wanted to quit football, why would he put in a transfer request?

Probably something in his contract about buying it out at 'x' amount if he hasn't been sold while transfer listed after a certain period of time. God knows what agents get up to these days. I doubt he would quit football altogether he doesn't seem burntout while he is playing if he was so sick of it he could just bugger off or say he's injured so can't play or what ever.

By quit football its generally thought to be European top flight (yes har har lolCity etc), to return to his boyhood club of Boca Juniors. The fact its a transfer request and not a resignation does put the ball back in the clubs court though. I don't think he's the type of player who would be spitefully **** if we slapped a huge price tag on him in January and he ends up staying because no-one who actually needs him can afford him.

Still, his agent is known for being a complete arse and we've heavily reduced payments to agents recently. Maybe he's angling for a better deal for himself if not for Tevez. As I say though, desperately want him to stay. He's perfect for us and the EPL.

On a side note I'm slightly worried at the sense being spoken in this thread. You do all realise its about Carlos Tevez of Man City, right? :p

Not convinced by this tbh
I know he eventually wants to leave but why would he do a 20min interview on MCFC website saying he will wait until his contract is up before deciding?

Be convinced :D

He's just acting the same way he did at utd, but to be fair it seems to be the same with most argies none of them seem to stay at a club for longer than 2 years

Just confirms how small time City still are though which deserves it's own :D

Spurs got 10 years out of Ossie and 5 out of Ricky. :D

What was that noise?

Was that Bizkid crashing back down to Earth :D

I am finding this all so epically hilarious :D

So they rejected the transfer request.......just seems a pointless thing this.

Tevez is completely overrated. Man City will buy someone better and not someone who is one dimensional.

Dzeko is not good enough, somehow being amazing in FM makes him World Class.

I hope City fall to pieces in second half of season. They are class-less *****. NOBODY want's them to succeed. And let's face it, they will never ever win the Premiership / Champions League.

Moans that he's over worked, moans when he gets rested as a sub. Wants to quit football etc

Funnily enough they are in the progress of negotiating a new deal.

"Significantly, over recent months, the club has also received numerous requests from Carlos' representative to renegotiate and improve his playing contract as well as more recently a request to extend that contract by another year.

How very odd for a homesick player to be so keen on a new contract and an extension.

Purely about money as it always has been with Tevez and his team. People in the EPL are getting more and he wants in.

He isnt overrated at all.
Well Dzeko is the best were going to get? So his consistent scoring in Bundesliga isnt good?
I know, dragging City to within touching distance of the Champions League almost single-handedly was pretty damn out of order of him.
It is more the interview he did this week where he said that he will stay at City until the end of his contract even though he knows how hard it is for him to stay.

I think he is angling for a 'Rooney', but unlike utd it is highly unlikely we will bow down to player/agent power and we will just sell him or put him in the reserves where most likely he will start missing training etc and then we will just fine him. For me, Mancini over Tevez. As much as i love Tevez and was skeptical about Mancini he has really got us going and unfortunately Tevez is too focussed on money it seems which i thought would be the last thing on his mind considering how he acts as a player and person.
Sorry for the DM long post :p

That interview was a couple of months ago before he was being subbed every game.

Apparently he's not happy the club released it the day after his spat with Mancini.

I'm pretty sure anyone that has ever followed any sort of football will realize that he has ALWAYS said that he would want to play for about 5 years, and then return to Boca Juniors.

He said it at United, he'd stay for 4-5 years tops, and then return home.

I'm not surprised in the slightest.

I know it was done a while ago but if the stories are true that he put in a transfer request on monday then why release the interview? Unless they were trying to make Tevez stay by sort of saying we have it on video that your not going and were going to release it on the internet so its more embarrassing etc for him

You've still got Santa Cruz :p

Ohh you never know, this time of year....

He could start delivering the goods:)

Tevez though, it's like tim vickery says, the guy should realise where it's at.

7-8 more years playing hard, doing the daily graft.. when he's done, back to argentina, then he can mess around with his mates and be around his family.

Shame english football might be seeing the back of him so soon, allways entertaining to watch as a player, knows a trick, scores some crackers.
