TF2 MvM update (now with co-op mode)

Well, have to say that was a frustrating as hell experience.

Massive wait to get in, then when you do it's complete pot luck whether you have any chance with the team you get.

Im not sure why people are sitting in Queues. Just use the server interface to join a game. I havent waited a single minute.

For Man up mode?

Can I get a refund of my original fee then? To me it's not a free to play game, as I paid for it :p

Nevermind, at least we all got a hat for that £34.99

Ugh get a terrible pub team and its soul destroying, two engineers who didn't realise that you need teleporters to get people back to the front line as fast as possible.... Still a fun addition to a fun game! Just a shame about the pot luck on the teams!

has the queue joining thing been fixed yet?

I got into a server after a 45 min wait last night, only to have two players drop out early, and another two drop out before the final wave, after which the server was stuck on 'waiting for players'. Gave it 10 mins and no one joined. Was not too happy to say the least...

Happened twice to me last night, the match making system is clearly broken.

If I didn't think much of vanilla TF2, is there a chance I will like this?

I only played TF2 for a few weeks after it was released, I really couldn't get into it, so I'm not sure if this is worth downloading to try it.

It depends: why didn't you like vanilla TF2? What do you think you'll like about this?

Vanilla TF2 was 1000x better as an actual team vs team FPS game. It was focused, balanced, refined and had a lot to learn in the higher-end.

F2P TF2 I'd say is 1000x worse when it comes to the actual no-frills team vs team 'core' gaming elements, however there's plenty to do if you're casual and not interested in learning the fine-points of a class or weapon. Plenty of 'fun' game-modes, a much wider variation in maps, lots of weapons and hats and misc items to keep the stamp collector's happy.

I'd say the game is more balanced now actually. Scout was far too weak when the game was vanilla imo. The scattergun was **** and it's rare now you'll ever see a scout using it. Engie was worth playing when the game was vanilla though, now it's difficult to keep a sentry up for longer than a minute.

Yup. Just refine your search by map "mvm_" :) List by people on server, not full, people playing. Boom.

When i tried this quickly yesterday my server results listed tons of 32 player servers with 20 odd bots.

Whenever I joined one the team had 6 players and I was put as a spectator with about 5 other people.... Do you need to find one with 32 players > 26 bots???

no, just less than 6 - they were filling very quick day one so it was a case of joining ones with just 1-2 players on, but I imagine now 4-5 would be fine.

LOL what the hell are you talking about.

Every scout with common sense uses the Scatter Gun.

It was never weak in Beta or Vanilla.

The only OP part about early TF2 was demo pipes and contact detonation, which was fixed very quickly.
