TF2 MvM update (now with co-op mode)

No, I just don't believe what you said. Yeah you might have played competitively but I doubt at the level and duration you said you did.

Why do you not believe him? I was div 3 and can prove it was me. Yeah div 3 isn't quite as high as winning div 2 but it's still pretty high up there.

He's right about the scattergun too. It's the best scout primary by a long long way.

So why does hardly anyone use it now? I still play tf2 nearly everyday and it's very rare I see a scattergun and like I said I've did a test where 6 shots of scattergun did less damage than FaN shoot/reload 3 times. Plus FaN knockback is very useful against heavies.

Where are you getting this from? I can provide proof and actual website records of me playing in high-level leagues. I can probably find you news articles on gaming websites mentioning my attendance at high-level LAN's. Where are you getting this spurious "everyone" from? Because your anecdote does not correlate with my reality. Hardly any Scouts use the Scatter? Strange, every Scout I see uses the Scatter... are we in parallel universes here?

Also if you need a FaN to take down a Heavy I suggest you go back to the drawing board. Heavies have been NP since week 1 of TF2 Beta. It's a L2P issue here.

You aren't getting me at all here. I didn't state anywhere that I needed a FaN to take down a heavy. I said it helps knock them back, particularly useful in uber situations. I'm also dubious that the class I pick up on is coincidentally the class you were "pro l33t I've been mentioned on websites".

So tell me why the game has increased in popularity and there is more competitive tournaments now since it was vanilla? If the game was as unbalanced as you make it out to be it wouldn't be featured.

It's not hard to believe he was a div 2 scout. He could've been scout, soldier, demo or medic. 1 in 4 chance...

Scout is also the most popular class in competitive 6v6

The concensus is that the best competitive period for TF2 was the first 4 or so Seasons. I don't know what you're talking about, yet again. You keep talking with this challenging tone even though the things you are saying are not correct at all-- it's a little odd. TF2 fielded the best professional teams and had the best overall influence and spread in eSports when it was first released. Nowadays it's a casualfest and a lapdog to MOBA's - which is a state of affairs that came about as a result of FPS games getting steadily worse, I'll hasten to add.

Coincidentally the class? I've played Scout competitively since TFC. There is no concidence. Scout is my class. I'm hardly making up ~10 years of my gaming history to win a non-argument with a stranger over a Forum about the Scatter gun being the best gun

Also Perma: I didn't win it for TF2. It was Call of Duty 1.

H2F: I was Scout because it was my long-time background class from TFC. I was recruited into top TF2 teams in Season1/2 because of my TFC Scout play. I also played team Medic and filled in as Solly. You are right in saying that the 'core' classes are not unusually all played by competitive players. This guy is acting as if I've just fabricated the rarest thing...

Something just doesn't add up for me. As for me coming across as challenging, I've read through your recent posts and that's all you seem to do on here. Challenge people. TF2 is as popular as it ever has been at the moment and the competitive scene is still going strong. To me it seems you think valve broke the game because you didn't like the changes, maybe because it stopped you being so l33t as a scout.

Nice to know you stalked me. Flattering. Still, doesn't change the fact I'm 100% right in saying the Scattergun is the most used and the strongest Scout primary.

Also not really sure what you're talking about me "stopping being leet" because of Valve filling the game with useless crap. You're acting like I'm being controversial here and saying challenging things. I'm just repeating the widely held view in the TF community about TF2's fate. I know a lot of people that have been playing TF for almost a decade and nobody is happy about TF2's current state. "More popular than ever", yeah great. One Direction are more popular than ever. That argument is age-old and never gets any more convincing.

I can't believe you've brought a boy band into a conversation about gaming. You can't compare the two. If the game was crap it wouldn't grow in player count simple as. Btw you're not 100% right actually as weapons come down to opinion. And I proved it wasn't the strongest for damage.

If the music was crap it wouldn't grow in singles sales.

This logic is completely fallacious.

90% of people are not what you would call 'discerning' users.

This goes for mainstream music as much as it goes for casual weekend gaming.

Weapons don't come down to opinion. There's just pure common sense here. The FaN does more damage than the Scattergun... yes, if you're a noob and need to learn to play and aim with the Scattergun. It also comes with drawbacks, and only has 2 shots, no? Wonder why all the top Scouts aren't talking about the FaN.

2 shots that fire faster and have more bullets in. And no music is completely different. Boy bands sales come from teenage girls who care about there looks or mums who like to look at a younger man.

Regardless of how good the fan is in pubs (I have no idea, I don't play pubs and when I do I never see the fan), I seriously hope you're not suggesting it would be better than the scatter in competitive play

Teenage girls listening to boybands are the equivalent to F2P TF2 noobs and their casual weekend-warrior play. It's the same intensity of engagement and the same individual knowledge involved: superficial. I just think it's funny you're telling the competitive guys that have 10 years of TF experience which gun is best.

It entirely depends on the playing style. Stating that the scattergun is better because it has a bigger clip size is ridiculous.

I think it's funny your still comparing gaming to boy bands. I'll let you continue arguing with yourself because you have unproven experience in a game and base the fact it's crap on your own views and not the stats that show the game is as successful as ever.

I wish you'd stop with the unproven thing. It's so unbelievably easy to prove if you played in ETF2L. The idea that you would have to prove yourself is absolutely ridiculous. You're honestly making yourself look stupid by asking him for proof.

btw InKursion, did you end up trying MGE? It's really cool.

If it was so easy why hasn't he done so? Asking someone for proof doesn't make me look stupid at all. I just like people to back things they've stated up.
