You need to find some 3d applications, because if your gfx card is broken, then your motherboard runs onboard gfx through it, which is why you still have 2d! It would explain a lot, however its not what you want to hear!
I just had a thought, get your hand on a 3d mark program! its the only thing i can think of right know that will stress test your gfx card! If it doesn't work then i'm pretty sure its broke !
see how long it can run this dribble program for if it cant do it forever, then i'm afraid it does sound a lot like a card failure, if so, you need to start looking at warranties and what not

Sorry to bring this uo again, but this may come in useful to other users. A friend came round and lend me his X700Pro, tried the games still same problem. So I knew it wasnt a GFX card problem. He closed NOD32 and the vista firewall and both the game ran ok!
Wooop. Dunno why I didnt think of this, surprised no-one off here did either tbh. Ah well its generally a simple thing!
Will leave this card in for the mo, as I want to benchmark the X700Pro with my X1950Pro, whats the best software to do this?
