wouldwife/10 ^

Did squats again today. Tried to follow all the given advice and i noticed an improvement. Was watching a couple of guys before me and their knees were well forward over their toes so thats wrong? Tried to keep my shins as near upright as i can without falling over backwards (was close 1 rep haha). Was better but still a way to go i think.

Focusing on where your knees are in the lift doesn't sound ideal.

Personally I think you'd be better focusing on glute, quad and adductor activation along with keeping your back tight and back angle as steady as possible.

IMO worrying about where you're knees are ends up promoting bad form as you push your ass out too much, increase the lever on your lower back and end up with a nasty back pump/good morning and awful hip drive.

Was only trying to go on what people said before :p I guess the real thing to do is get a video and let people crit on that, its too hard from just words.

@Andrew, my knee wont go over my toes nevermind infront of them!

The position of the bar on your back plays a big role in the extension of your knees over your toes and also your back angle. See this image from Starting Strength:

The key point is to keep the line of force down through the centre of your foot.

/edit: I'm pretty sure my knees don't go ahead of my toes, but I don't think it matters if they do a little.

Genetics may have something to do with some things - but here is an example of how to say **** you to how you were, and embracing a new way of life.

Wow didn't know she had breast cancer, pretty surprising, Always been a fan of her though shes stunning, but thats pretty crazy to see, and it happens more often than we all think.

I feel for these people and athleates alike as taking a GREAT blow like that and picking the pieces up is a lot harder for someone who takes great passion in their body and aesthetics then someone who does not.

I am much the same with the colitis issue and losing weight getting ill etc and constant uphill battle. It makes you appreciate life more though and be thankful for what you don't have.

Just did a short session on Upper Body today.

Decline Press: 14 reps @ 20kg+bar, 15 reps @ 30kg+bar, 10 reps@ 40kg+bar;

Chest Dips unassisted: 9 reps, 4 reps

Dumb-bell Curl - 1 rep max 24kg per arm, 2 sets.

Preacher Curls - 14 reps @ 17.5kg, 8 reps @ 25kg;

Captains Chair - 16 reps, 16 reps, 12 reps.

Pull ups Wide Grips 7 reps;

Pull Ups Narrow Grips 6 reps;

CV Work, 5 mins @ 11km/h

Time wasn't on my side tonight, but I was impressed with my 1 rep max on the dumb-bell Curls and how close my narrow grips are to my wide grips, there was a difference of 5 reps between the two last time.

Next Session, I aim to do Triceps and Back and a bit more CV.

Good session, plus some nice Eye Candy :)

Well the MT shape up has ended and its time for the voting, so if anyones a member on MT it would be very much appreciated if you could drop a vote on for me. Although I wont be too offended if you pick one of the other guys :p, theres been some top transformations.

Had a vote but not for you sorry :p, had to go to stealthy. I tried to avoid voting for the best physique though and went for the best loss.

Credit to you though your physique is improving.

I definetly did something to my right shoulder last time I was benching, I could feel it clicking in and out doing incline presses today so just kept to some light work of 15kg dumbbells then some tri work.

Going out tonight and will be getting hammered but after that I'm gonna go for a good solid 6 weeks of dieting while I'm revising for exams.

Had some serious elbow pain today. Just using my mouse is uncomfortable. Theyve always been a bit funny but not normally painful. I wonder if tennis elbow is genetic as my parents both have it bad :p Might have to take it easy at the gym for a while :@

Squatters - Are you having the jeans/thighs syndrome?

Majority of my jeans are almost skin tight around my thighs but loose around the waist/bum area :(

Mainly G-Star/Burberry - Own 5 pairs of the latter brand :(
