It just fully depends on the person, I know people who are very strong but can't do 1 yet there are others who can't lift a thing and can do a good amount.

For myself the record is 27 but that was a long time ago and I reckon I could manage more now.

Has anyone ever tried doing pullups but alternate pullups and chin ups each rep? Did some yesterday, they were fun but I couldn't help seeing myself face planting the bar :p

Must have drank about 3000 Calories worth of units last night. Woops :p.

Kept it clean the rest of the week, I wonder if I can still lose weight this week, as you probably **** a lot of that away...

Not so much that, alcohol puts the body on "Hold" if you like. So fat burning IIRC is prevented for up to 2-3 days. BUT imo you can't live your life in cotton wool so drink up every now and then....

I *think* alcohol and the dehydrated state can help you to drop water, obviously initially but I might have read somewhere you don't put it all back on again. May of course be total BS!

As B1C3P says you have to live a little! I was out on Friday and just drank as many of my units in as few a drinks as possible. 7% vintage cider for example :D 3 or 4 of them and I'm well on my way.

Yeah, if I have been drinking I'll wake up looking even leaner, alcohol does dehydrate you greatly... but your electrolyte, mineral balance etc it will return back to normal. I find that I'll be dehydrated and lean for a good few hours then start to bloat and sweat which ain't great lol.

I don't drink to much these days but usually just stick to spirits, vodka etc. Empty and useless calories, but tbh it's not going to harm you if done in moderation. Far to many people have this perception that they have to live and breathe like a pro, jay cutler for example and have everything down to a T, from diet to training to lifestyle.

well you definitely look slightly more cut up the day after a few drinks due to the dehydration. The problem is that your face shows signs of wear and tear. There's something in the leangains site about alcohol on a cut.

Personally I've given up the booze for this cut. I'll have a fair few on my birthday weekend in March but only on special occasions.

Toxins.... alcohol is a poison to the body it will get escreeted thru the skin. Hence why your skin will go a bit funky :p and "sweating" it out.

The biggest problem with booze on a cut is the crap it convinces me it's ok to eat at the end of a night! I imagine that's a problem faced by lots of people! Last night for instance I was on blackcurrant and soda and when I decided I was going home alone (bad times) instead of wandering into the kebab shop for my typical kebab and chips slathered in mayo and chilli then into a taxi home I decided it'd be a nice bit of exercise to walk home then cook myself a 3 egg omelette before bed. Couple that with the fact that I saved myself about £60 on my usual nights out and it was a right brucie bonus.

It's actually encouraged to have a very small amount of alcohol, brandy usually before a show as it brings out the vascularity and dryness

Wine is good for this. But imo shows and water balance is extremely tricky to get right, you either nail it on the head or you stuff it up big time. People pop diuretics, or try certain carb up methods, carb deload but imo it's extremely hard to get it right for many.

And I think im the only one whos never been one to eat donner kebab? I've never had one since I was about 10? lol. Usually after a night out it's a subway or a mcdonalds.

B1C3P: I thought your post was saying you were going out on nights out when you were 10 . But then I stopped being a retard and worked it out :).

After my revelation last week I'm upping my squats today, hopefully 140kg for 5x5 :)

I'm sure I read or saw somewhere that Ronnie Coleman tried having a bottle of Vodka or similar the night before winning his first Olympia.

Was watching some UK bodybuilding documentary the other night and one of the competitors did this with wine. had 3/4 of a bottle the night before just as he went to bed, then the rest for breakfast in the morning. Given the type of diet he was on I think it's fair to say that he must have been pretty smashed during the comp!

I think I must've drank about 15 vodkas or so, I'm not gonna pretend its a good idea but I wanted to go out and let loose. Rarely go out anyways, maybe once a month now :(.
