Know that feeling. I think im small and lacking in mass. I think that comes from having too much fat atm, it completely changes my view on my body.

just randomly looked at myself on webcam, in the right light and with the right pose i look HUGE, the mirror and my own eyes tell me different though lol

I Have P.E. (aka Sunken chest) about an inch sunken in, it's the one major demotivator for me, i dont know if it's so pronounced because im quite thin. or if it will always be so bad.

Constantly examine themselves in a mirror
Frequently compare themselves with others
Become distressed if they miss a workout session or one of their many meals a day
Have delusions of being underweight or below average in musculature.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one

It's became pretty disturbing, infact. The sheer anxiety caused by such minor things as missing meals, not getting enough water/carbs/proteins.

I get stressed and anxious when I break out in a sweat for Pete's sake! All because I think I'm burning more calories than I'm putting in.

I look at myself in the mirror everyday and think I'm ridiculously skinny, despite folk stating otherwise.

Even sticking that photo in the BB pictures thread recently, I looked at it around 15 times that night and kept thinking 'I'm too small, shouldn't have uploaded' :p

I strained my shoulder a couple of weeks ago whilst going for a PB DB shoulder press and whilst it didn't hurt during the set (and I broke my PB!) it has been sore and tight ever since. It might not have been the DBP, but rather my gym bag finally doing my shoulder/back in. I've got myself booked in for a physio, so it'll get sorted, but it means I haven't been to the gym for 2 weeks and I am feeling incredibly fat and deflated. I'm literally embarrassed to look at myself in the mirror. My girlfriend says I have nothing to worry about, I look exactly the same but in my mind I'm like jabba the hut :/

I was wondering why the old thread wouldn't let me post and then I did a search and found this thread lol, took me two days to work that one out haha.

I just been having a question in my mind I want to share lol, its about carbs, coz I've been learning about nutrition, or trying to, just reading articles online. Anyways I feel like I have a pretty good diet but I wanted to ask about carbs because I read that carbs help the amino acids from protein get to where it needs to go. But because am trying to get low body fat I been trying to keep carbs lower over past two weeks, and I seem to be less bloated and have flatter stomach and feel much better for it.

But do I need to have carbs with every bit of protein I eat, or as long as I have dextrose with my post workout whey shake is that ok?

so say like I have 8 meals a day. Do I need to have carbs 8 times a day, or can I just have carbs 3-4 meals and the other meals just protein with veg?

When do you have your carbs? Can you give me any advice.

Thanks in advance.

Carbs get a lot of bad press. There is really no need to do these low carb diets, if you're trying to lose fat you can taper off carbs towards the end of the day

For example, I'm entering my pre-contest diet next week but starting off on 305g of carbs a day, then week by week it slowly drops.

I have a steady amount throughout the day with only my pre-bedtime meal containing low carbs. Worry more about your other macros being correct, decent level of good fats, right level of protein, and making sure it's all clean food

Dont really think I have a problem bar those two :p, I like to measure progress, possibly love myself too much sometimes :p.

God that annoys me, bodybuilder at 17 lives in a council house and doesnt work. Get out the gym and get a job.

Squats today, went 1x5, 1x4 (fail :( ), 3x5 all @92.5kg. Still feel dehydrated from being out drinking on saturday :o

But can someone explain to me again the science behind carbs with protein, how it helps the amino acids get to where they need to go? Coz I've got it in my head that if I dont have carbs with protein then the protein isn't gona work as good?

I'm 260 pounds round abouts, I go up and down all the time, these days I have around 400g of protein per day and 200g carbs I used to have 600g carbs per day but now I've lowered it to 200g which just comes from oats/sweet potatoes/wholewheet pasta/dextrose.

My diet is 100% clean, I only eat good carbs, and my protein comes from egg whites/fish/whey, I eat green veg with most meals such as broccoli and spinach and I try to eat plenty of fat too such as olive oil/sunflower oil/oily fish/omega 3 tablets but even though I know exactly how much carbs and protein I have each day, I find it hard to measure how much fat I eat, not quite sure how to do it.

Oh and dont get me wrong, I know carbs are great for energy for gym, I usually try eat carbs from waking up to going to gym, and then have dextrose with post-workout meal and then after that no more carbs for rest of day, is this the best way to do it? no carbs in the evening and before bed?

Well it is my opinion true but even so. That is a lot!

That 1.5g is per lean lb of bodyweight, if you are 260lbs lean then fair play and you will need a lot to maintain that.

You guys are very opinionated lol, especially on this forum, but its true in all aspects of bodybuilding! even in gym, even when I want and need no advice people still try to give it lol. Sometimes people say why dont you do this exercise or that exercise, or why dont you do it this way or that way. Or eat this or that, lol, the best thing I've learnt over years is to listen to nobody and just learn yourself, but I did ask some questions about carbs above coz I'm still learning about nutrition and the science behind food so on some subjects am totally closed, like that door is closed and I refuse to open it, but on other subjects am more open and willing to listen lol.

You guys are like yeah but surely its 1.5g per lean weight, well if thats what you've read then am very happy for you lol, but dorian yates trains regular guys and even he says 1.5g per pound of body weight, he doesnt mention lean bodyweight, and I've read and heard this many times before. But like I said before, if you eat 150g and your gaining muscle thats great, but not everybody is the same and what works for you wont always work for others. I dont believe you can set a standard amount of protein for everybody, people have to experiment with food and work out whats best for them.
