I love this thread, serious argument where everyone is heated, an hour later, a topic about masturbation and technique :D

Talk about no middle ground :p

And people wonder why some people are hesitant to poast pics.

It would go one of two ways, people telling him he needs to do more squats and eat more oats, discussing the finer points if what type or blend of oats to use.

Or it would devolve into a discussion of how fapworthy the picture is.

edit :- Doh, misspelled post as poast, i was thinking of boiled eggs and toast, my favourite brekkie.

Edit 2 :- evil postcount >.>

I don't have a choice....

What on earth are you implying :D

Just had a monster session today, I got 140kg 5x5 on squat :) (NEW PB!!!) /excitement, I reckon I have more in me so I'm going to go for 150kg next sesh. Also did 5x5 HC2PP with 65kg :).

And on top of this had a banterous no homo post session pose down :D.

Aaanndd now I'm scoffing an enormous portion of spaghetti bolognaise (god knows how you spell it :) )

been working on the shoulder press over the last couple of weeks,

did 3x8 reps on 20kg dumbells last week

today I did 8 reps on 22, 5 reps on 22 and then 8 reps on 20

hopefully get 3x8 on 22 next week

cheers

Wow that was an emotional couple of pages, with a heart warming self love conclusion. Well done chaps.

Went slightly off program tonight in the gym and ended up ramping my squats up quite dramatically so i finished a 5x5 at 185kgx5, all observed and checked for depth. Completely shocked, that's 5kg over what was a fairly aggressive estimate of a finishing 5rm. So now this means that on friday I'll be doing 190kgx5x5  (more if it feels good, but I doubt it), and that's only 5% off my previous 1rm from 2 MONTHS ago at comp. WTF?!

Depending on the online calculator used (all slightly BS IMO) that puts my new 1rm at around 215. God bless you HST.

Need to find some time to find my max rack pull, tried again tonight it was a bit of a none starter.

Next powerlifting cycle is going to be fun :D

Is there a "standard height" the bar should be off the ground for rack pulls or is it up to the lifter?

Sounds like HST has played trickery with your muscles icecold, awesome lifts! I'm starting the 15s next week, my first time doing HST so really interested to see what happens.

Not really, but anything much above the knee and your basically just humping the bar :P. Just below the knee is going to be the highest I work from, but different heights are useful. So yeah, it really depends on the lifter and where you're strong in the lift. I'm fast from the knee, hence my max height choice.

Thanks btw! I'm sure you'll end up liking HST, but the first couple of sessions at 15 reps are HARD. Be careful not to do them too close to a prior meal or you're in danger of seeing it again (right Benny? ;) ). I've approached this HST cycle slightly differently to my previous two, I might do a mini review when I finish it this weekend.

SkScotchegg must you use "Lol" so frequently all the time, I found that more annoying than your strange attitude towards advise to be honest :(.

The 15's was the hardest part for me personally just because the endurance range is so exhausting! once you're into the 10's though it's much more enjoyable. I'll deffinitley be doing HST again after the deconditioning period. My IF & HST journal is knocking about somewhere.

I was doing them fasted in keeping with IF, though had had 10 grams of BCAA's which I promptley brought back up again, followed by a short rest I then decided to pop in my PWO shake which also came back up again.

I'm onto my 5's now and my recovery/conditiong/strength/power all seem to be up. For example my bench yesterday at 102.5KG for 3 sets of 5 I had no problem getting the bar up from the lowest point just a little tricep fatigue from the press I did before. It's not massively heavy for me but it was easier than it used to be. Dips @ 27.5KG again were no problem, looking foward to finishing on 40KG :)

MOAR DIPS! I'm at using 30kg for medium work on my light weeks now Benny.

Get upto 50kg already :p

Actually speaking of 30kg dips, nice story time.

Yesterday was back and tricep day. So I was deadlifting as usual. In comes the college's "biggest" lad. He puts on straps and a belt, and he deadlifts 140kg. Most I've ever seen him do. Even with the belt his back is badly badly arched, he was blood red in the face and barely able to lift them. Then on his way down, lol he doesn't lower it. He just dropped it hard. Big bang and thanks to the straps he got whipped down so quickly :p

Some of the rugby team were there and just looking at him like "whut?!", then they saw me behind him at 150kg for 5 reps fast up slow down and controlled. Then 160kg, and finally 170kg. Then 150kg again, 140kg and 120kg all for 5 reps. I've never seen people so shocked. Super ego boost or what!

Then I get to my dips, BW x5, +10kg x5, +20kg x5 and finally +30kg x5 for 3 sets.

The one rubgy guy comes over and asks, "uhm...mind if I work in a bit" "Sure I say, wanna try my belt?" Rugbylad " Uh..yeah sure." He's a big guy, trouble getting the belt on, and puts on +10 kg. Shortly after, "Jesus! You can really feel that....how can 10kg be so heavy?"

Que my awesome grin of pure awesomeness. " Try all the plates" :D

Big man fails after 2 reps and que respect for the little 70kg man from the 16stone rugby beast.

Haha, so here's my story. I love ego boosts like that. Sure I can never chest press 50kg dumbbells like that college "Beast", but I can sure as hell deadlift and dip like a champ compaired to them :p

Wall of text crits you all for +9000dmg.

Now to get back to my linux lab. :D
