Thing is you probably see yourself in the mirror a lot, so any change will not be noticeable. I've fallen into this trap where I can't see any change, but it's there.

On a serious note, I agree with Mr Jestar.
Focus on strength first - size will come with it. Then if you want to add more mass, it'll be easier as you'll be able to rep on larger weights.
I've always lifted heavy and not really done much mass specific training, and I'd like to think I have decent mass. I started off a skinny guy though, so not sure if I'd be doing strength training as much if I was carrying more fat. Always good in my opinion to strip back the fat and start with a good lean base![]()
