all living outside and doing well :)

Seem rather healthy. They're faring better than some of the veggies I've got on 'the patch' outside. They've just been blown and soaked into oblivion!

Getting some fruit growth now, also some ripening

Anyone recognise the unknowns, really should have labelled, might be able to identify when they are ripe.

The first unknown looks like a Hungarian Wax chilli, although they grow downwards. They might flop over the other way when they become too heavy though. I'd say Hungarian Wax. The second looks like the start of a Cherry Bomb chillie. Did you plant either of those varieties?

I'm gonna post up a few pics of my current crop, although the pics are a few weeks old and things have gone nuts in our greenhouse lately!

Here are my chillies, and a few of some tomato plants. As mentioned above, these are from the end of June. The tomatoes and some of my chilli plants have really taken off since then, I'll get pics of the latest tonight if it stops raining:

Our new greenhouse (green too :D)

I have more on the go but couldn't get to them as they were right at the back in the greenhouse. I'll get some better pics soon :)

Didn't grow any Hungarian Wax chillies or Cherry Bombs, the 2nd unknown pic is now hanging down and looks like a bhut jolokia i think but not sure atm.

The 3rd unknown, the round ones, i have no idea at all, afaik didn't even plant anything that should be like that, unless they are bell peppers but very small and not taken shape yet.

PS. Just went through my seed packets and ebay purchase history and still no idea.

Soz, I meant the second unknown, didn't notice the first in with the rest at the top, I thought the bottom two were the unknowns. Google for pics of the Hungarian Wax and the Cherry Bomb. They look very similar to what you have in those last two pics.

Just had a single red scotch bonnet chilli ripen (none of my other chillis are anywhere close).
Tried the tiniest corner of it and I'm in agony :(

The rest of it's going in tonights chilli con carne..

I've just checked my plants and one of them is covered in spider mite, while another had aphids (with lots of sticky spots all over them).

Has anyone had experience at keeping these little monkeys at bay? I might see if I can get any fruit friendly pesticide from the garden centre :/

I had the same problem and was forced to use some fruit friendly pesticide. It has worked though.

Harvested my first chilli today, a small red Apache F1. Thought I may as well eat the whole thing to check the heat and oh my, does it burn. My missus has been laughing herself silly at me drinking loads of milk with a bright red face. :D

My four Apache plants are all doing well, I reckon there are between 25 and 40 on each plant. Going to have to start harvesting soon, just waiting for them to get to a decent size.

My Scotch Bonnets are growing but have no flowers yet, though I think I see the beginnings of some. Been a really poor year for growing them outside without a green house.

If there are too many to flick off, which it sounds like, some pesticide is your best bet. Worked for me this year on one of my other plants.

All of mine are beginning to ripen. Already picked a few cayennes :) Need to find more spicy recipes!

Mine have been a real failure this year compared to last year though can hardly blame myself with this weather

Some proper weather by the looks of it for the coming days. Will be welcome. Hopefully it will give my tomatoes a bit of a boost too as they are lagging way behind where they were at this point last year.

I had a load of aphids on my indoor plants, I gave them a burst of Raid and they all dropped off dead :p

Plant seems fine too!
This was back before it was flowering though..

Started harvesting my Apache's and my god, they are very potent. Chopped one onto a pizza tonight and my mouth is on fire, sweat is pouring from my brow and I look like a beetroot. Lovely. :D

Is this on a plant that you intend to eat the fruit from?

If so I would advise against it

Just use a bit of washing up liquid mixed with a fair amount of water to try and get rid of the Aphids. Spray it on.
