Men's -62kg's now!
Hi all,
I then decided to mess up my right leg. I did a spiral fracture of my fibula and displaced my ankle. It was operated on and I had a plate and screws put in my lower leg. I was non weight bearing for 9 weeks and have now been out of plaster now for nearly 3 weeks and can walk on it now, albeit slowly.
So what do you guys do when you're struggling to find the motivation to hit the gym? Need to go tonight, leg day, know I should go, want to go... but struggling to find the motivation.

Song completely stuck in my head, thanks
Should be starting in a minute. Lu's provisional opener in the snatch is 170kg and 200kg in the cnj... won't be coming out till late then since a lot of the other openers are a fair bit lower, plus people will be retaking lifts or doing jumps up that are still <170kg.
I'm not sure how to feel about what just happened...
From what I can work out, a bunch of the other coaches changed their lifters first attempts at the last second which then meant Lu got called up way earlier than his team expected (I'm not sure if this was some sort of tin-foil conspiracy to throw him off or the fact that the coaches only just worked out that one of the lifters from the B group had hit a 203kg junior world record and was currently ahead of all of the A group in the CNJ medal table - laughable none of them seemed to realise this earlier) and he literally had to run out and lift before he'd had a chance to finish his warm ups. He didn't look ready for his first attempt then his composure went and for the 2nd/3rd attempts with him not getting under the bar enough before trying to stand. A pity since he was only an elbow buckle away from that 177kg snatch WR and his 175kg snatch looked tidy. Joins the bomb club with his teammate Long Quigquan.
It highlights the problem with the squat jerk - even if it might allow you to stand up with a little more weight than a split, it's way more unforgiving technically and the margin for error is much smaller.
I fear the same problem might befall Tian Tao later since like Lu he makes mincemeat of the cleans but IIRC he's pretty inconsistent with standing up with the bar overhead.
I saw some people saying he must have hurt his elbow with that WR snatch attempt but I think that's balls - he might have made the 2nd/3rd attempts if his head was in the right place but he looked as devoid of confidence in the cnj as he was full of it in the snatch.
I think it was a joint effort from the other coaches tbh since all other jerks after their first attempts were ludicrous increases but kudos to the Kazakh for the 207! Everyone else that went after Lu failed. I appreciated it's a damn heavy weight but for all lifters to miss seems odd, but that is down to the weight being too much for them. 7kg, 8kg and 12kg jumps at that level is silly, doable in some cases but not all...
I appreciate that some people are saying he hurt his elbow and that's why he missed the jerks; funny that his warm ups were going well and actually increased his C&J from 200 to 201. Surely if he had hurt himself he would have lowered his opener to compensate and ensure he got a total of some kind. There was also no expression of pain whatsoever after the 177kg snatch attempt and was smiling after the lift and all the way through the tunnel too...
Looks like it could be the end of his career now though as I don't think there is another opportunity for him to qualify for Rio.
