This may sound stupid, but is there any legal requirements for gym temperatures? i ask because I go to a chain gym, the air conditioning system has been broken for months and when it works its purely pathetic and the recent heat is mentally driving me insane. I literally walked in did a set of chins and started to sweat.

I think there is some stipulation, 32 degrees rings a bell for some reason. I used it to wriggle out of a gym contract for a chain that had **** poor cooling and was actually boarder line dangerous/health risk.

Funnily enough I train somewhere now which doesn't have any but is spit and sawdust but even they have big floor fans. Don't mind it being hot so much when I'm not bent over for an expensive membership every month :p

Gym rats I need your help!

Lately (read last couple of years) I've noticed the fashion industry has shifted towards ridiculously tight leg wear as a result I'm struggling to find some shorts that fit. I'm sure others here have a similar problem when it comes to buying clothes so... where do you go?!

I'm looking for some cargo shorts for my holidays, not bothered about brand and to be honest colour isn't really that high priority just something that fits! I tried on some 36 waist today which are way too big around the waste bit then they are still tight - what the f! Arrrgghgh - help!

The struggle is real. It's not just the thighs but need the room for my squat booty. Anyway I found the GOAT shorts a few weeks before holidays. M&S 'Dad' shorts. FLOL serial they were in the fathers day section and they fit lovely. They do look naff though!

Lol, I do get on with it still there erryday it's just getting beyond uncomfortable and making driving past the beer garden a tad harder ;)

This Week I could not be motivated or even try, the last day was back day, on Weds which was the hottest here ( gym has no air con or anything..just some open windows), and its killed my motivation, could the overall heat just put my body in some kind of, cant be bothered with it mode?.

Thought the people that frequent this thread might find this app useful, just noticed it on the market the other day

Water Your Body

I assume there is something similar/free on IOS but it is quite a neat app which keeps track of the amount of water consumed - i know i can substitute out drinking water and consume a lot of tea/coffee so this acts as a good reminder especially in the current heat :)

No I'm sorry but only you can put your body into some kind of can't be bothered mode

The determined are still slaving away pouring buckets I guess it depends how bad you want your goal

Well ive done 4 months straight at 4 days a week so I think im due a bit of off time anyways.

Guess im not "determined" enough.

Going to do a longer post on here when I'm on my PC, cause I've commented on random gym threads with no details about my routines.. But I have a story for today!

Today I met a crossfitter. OHPing 100kg. Yep, definitely admired that. Ended up talking to them, cool guy. Gave me advise on my power clean form and it just felt so much better after their comments. Always learning.

Happily did 80kg barbell shrugs after that. Never gone that high before. Was fun.

6 weeks into training after my surgery and I've basically been given a second wind. No more half arsed workouts anymore.

You're right a week off while it's boiling hot and horrible to train in is really going to hinder dem gainz.

For most life is not all about the gym, for you it appears it is and that's fine but don't sit there and preach with all this omg you obviously just don't want to reach your goals you weak willed phaggot crap because some people don't want to live in the gym 365 days a year.

Any good recommended meal plans guys? I need something consistent to stick with whilst trying to cut for the next 8 weeks or so.

Yup - tuna/chicken salad with feta and avocados.

Nuts for snacks.

Or...

Eat whatever you want, staying within a BMR-based calorie deficit whilst hitting your brotein requirements. Check the OP of this thread for extra gains.

Concentrate on hitting your protein via a variety of sources (lean/lean-ish meats and fish, quark, skyr, whey... although rather than drinking it use it with something like those Alpro pots which are low fat/carb), get a decent amount of your carbs from things that offer decent volume (i.e. not rice) and satiety, things like potatoes and oats (soak overnight to absorb more water and get a bigger bowl for the same macros), eat a variety of leafy greens that are very low cal, stuff like that. Variety is key to making a diet feel as non-diety as possible, covers any potential nutrient deficiencies and makes it more likely that you'll adhere to it.

I tend to always start with dinner which will have the veg and lunch which will almost always be something like chicken and salad to get a bunch of protein in, then that will dictate where the rest of my cals come from, and doing a weekly shop means you tend to have a bunch of dishes on rotation over a month. If dinner is something like salmon then that's most of my fat gone for the day but I still have a lot of protein and carbs to get, so as well as lean meats I might include things like refried beans (1-2g fat for a whole can for the win) and fruit. Something like chicken pasta means that's most of my carbs gone and a decent hit of protein so fats can come from dairy/eggs etc.

Thanks for the tips and advice, appreciate it. Need to know what macros to set each day now. Currently at 190lb's ish - on average. Should I be incorporating cardio and how much should I cut calories by?

Sorry for all the noob questions but this is my first proper cut I've done.

Also, what's Skyr?
