I haven't ever found a gym where serious users are unhelpful or intimidating. If anything it's the half arsed people who look at you more menacingly then get intimidated by massive people doing things properly and promptly scuttle off back to their bicep workout.

I've only really gone to a massive roider gym most of my gym life and they always are polite and helpful if you ask about something. Dealift and arms day for me today, RIP my back tomorrow.

I don't know why i had those preconceptions, i think i'm just that type of person who gets intimidated in a crowd of people i don't know anyway so avoid it unless i have to. I've been going for a few months this year and had been going for a few months last year until November when i had to stop, so 6 months worth of wasting time and a single hour changes that and i'll be perfectly comfortable going in there on Saturday. As i said, i now feel daft :)

Back is in pieces today but got a new deadlift pb of 180 (with belt and straps). :D Last time I tried 170 couldn't get it off the ground but changed to a 5x5 for a couple of weeks and it's worked brilliantly. All my lifts have gone up.

Hope I don't have to hand over my man card for this but does anyone know of any online/youtube pilates videos that I could have a go of.

Considered a class but its not practical at the moment; time wise and cost, so thought I'd see what the craic is before I commit to something.

Has anyone else got the terrible infliction of tiny wrists? My biceps, triceps and the top of my forearms are coming along well but I have rather long forearms connected to tiny wrists which makes my arms look a bit stupid. Below is roughly my body proportions.

Picture makes no sense as the whole arm is the same width but nevertheless I know what you mean :D

I'm pretty sure wrist size is mainly determined by genetics unless you wanna start shooting GH :p

It was more a visualisation of my reach. :D I know it's genetics sadly, I would be worried about taking HGH in case they get even longer! On the plus side it's good for deadlifts which is the lift that matters. :p

Hey everyone,

I'm 6'2 and just cut from 180lbs to 164lbs over the last 3 months. I'm sitting at about 12.5% bf according to the scale (although certainly looks a bit higher). I'd like to switch to a bulk and came up with the following diet:

Pre-workout
1 scoop whey
1 scoop oats
pre-workout shake

3 Eggs & 3 egg whites
2 slides of whole wheat toast
turkey sausage
2 fish oil caps & multi

3/4 cup basmati rice
chicken

3/4 cup basmati rice
chicken

1 scoop whey
1 scoop oats

750ml skim milk

macros are 200g protein / 188g carbs / 80g fat and 2600 cals.

My TDEE is 2200 cals

Is this a decent clean bulk diet plan?

It isn't bad, but there is a big reliance on brotein and milk...

I would just have more to eat: four whole eggs instead of that 3'n3 business, handfuls of nuts (and dried berries if that is your thing), peanut butter on toast, etc.

Afternoon all,

Bit of a newbie when it comes to weight training, I've got a routine set out and I've been going to the gym for about a month and half now 6 days a week.

I've decided to buy myself some protein shake, when looking on a website i noticed there was a sale on so i decided to look at some pre workout as i had heard it is good. I chose one, it has creatine in it, 4g per serving, now i'm not sure if my friends who i was discussing this with were joking or not but they were saying that creatine is pretty bad for you? I know i probably sound stupid for even asking this but can someone please clarify, as i said I'm a newbie so I'm still learning all the different information regarding nutrition, supplements etc.

Thanks in advance.

It will make your kidneys fall out of your bum.

Srs.

Creatine is fine it's one of the most tested and used sports supplements on earth it is not dangerous in any way shape or form.

Anyone who tells you otherwise should make it onto your list of "Don't not listen to these people" people.

Cheers for getting back to me about the creatine, i feel stupid fo having to even ask haha.

Thought i may as well ask another question that's on my mind.

So as i said above I've been going to the gym for a month and a bit now and I've got myself into a good weekly routine with workouts. I've adjusted my diet also, I'm currently trying to lose some weight and build muscle at the same time. which i can then adjust my diet to help me bulk up.

This is my current eating plan for each day, it's pretty boring so i might adjust it at times.

Breakfast: Porridge and 1 banana.
Mid morning snack: 2 or 3 Eggs.
Lunch: Tin of tune (contemplating making a tuna pasta salad)
Afternoon snack: Greek yoghurt and almonds
Tea: White fish with a salad

I haven't actually done all the macro nutrients to see exactly what nutrients I'm getting since it's still pretty new to me, I'll probably do this at some point soon.

I've ordered some protein powder and pre workout so when that arrives I'm probably going to have a shake at the mid morning snack and after the workout.

I know i can get all of this information on-line but it varies depending where you look, so i thought i may as well ask you lot.

What are you actually asking? I don't see a question in there :p

Sorry, currently writing it at work so keep getting side tracked, i just want to know if it's a fairly decent eating plan to help me lose weight, i know i should look into exactly what calories and nutrients I'm in taking, just thought I'd ask peoples opinions at a first glance of it.

Without any sort of quantities no one will be able to give you a decent answer, you can lose or gain weight on any types of food it's the quantities that are important.

Also what's your weight and height as again one mans cutting diet is another mans bulk.
