*** The 2017 Gym Rats Thread ***

Great work!

So, I'm going on holiday..... And the hotel has a 'gym' that looks like 3 exercise bikes in a cupboard

I'm doing the stronglifts plan and would rather not stop if I can help it, any advice?

Anyone done a drop in at a gym in a foreign country before?

If you can't find a local gym, split squats, push-ups and rows holding your suitcase.

Or invest in a heavy resistance band to do the same (I used both when I used to travel for work)...

Or just bench the cardio machines...

I make it my life's goal to train at a gym in every foreign country I visit.

But then again, I'm a narcissist so of course I'd do that.

There seems to be a couple in the area, it's just I only went to my first real gym ~2 weeks ago.
So negotiating a drop in in a foreign language is a bit daunting haha.
But it's only Algarve, so good chance that I'll do fine with English

Good news for me today - I was 99% sure I had a sports hernia but the doc. says no! I have a groin strain and the lump I found 'in the crease' is actually an enlarged lymph node. Phew, no surgery for me! A few weeks of taking it easier should see me right.

Eu não quero olhar como um vegetariano...?

Obviously fitness is about watching other people on YouTube rather than actually working out yourself, so who are the Rats favourite tubers of note? My current go-tos are
Brian Alsruhe

Alan Thrall

I quite like AthleanX, although it's a terrible terrible name - I trust the guy, he either sells BS really well or he's genuine, I don't know enough to disagree with him though.

I also like Alan Thrall, and used to love Elliott Hulse back in the day.

I find AthleanX can have whole videos where he says pretty much nothing.
or one point which was covered early and the rest felt like click bait.

Though I have found others of his useful

As for youtube channels I don't watch many anymore but I loved Hulse and Candito back in the day :) Renaissance Periodisation is great as well.
