LOOOOOL - didn't read the small print; Pure are only open till 10pm every night (8pm weekends). Have to go tomorrow to test.

Das not it mane.

EDIT - I also had to reposition the screws on the lever belt in my work locker, because fatty. Sad times.

My gym still hasn't reopened for "magical reasons" and they are refusing to give any sort of timeline but I went and trained in the local Nuffield health last night with a trial through work first session since Jan I think.
Quick session on the weights, kept it very light but I'm feeling it today!

Yeah my first day back is today!

Work gym is still shut, so joined a local after a look around. Im going to start on some light stuff just to get movement and feel back and hopefully not wreck myself, then back onto SL properly (with a chosen deload) on Monday.

Went back to PureGym this morning. Not really much different. Love this though -

So you can't have the locker next to me... but you can have the one, LITERALLY right on top of me?!?! Am I missing something?

Share on Twitter, it will be on all the news sites later :D

I can see the headlines now “Large chain gym helping fuel second wave”

Well that was quite enjoyable!

Did a few of the compound lifts to get back into the swing of it (OHP 40KG) Squat (70KG) on smiths just to be safe and get the movements back. Free bench 70KG.

Then a load of machine stuff just to have a play, as my old gym only had a power rack and free weights, so was nice to have things like a chest press, or leg curls and rows etc.

Mixed bag! Haven't lost too much on squat and bench but my hip hinging stuff was pretty weak (the one movement pattern I haven't been able to train hard w/bodyweight). Pure are determined to upset me by taking away the plyo boxes I use for seal rows, so I'll have to do poverty BORs till they bring them back. One set of toes to bar cramped my abs as well :-/

Well the morning weigh in was depressing. No wonder I’ve lost strength. I’m down to 85kg from 88kg before lockdown and 90kg peak strength a few weeks prior. I’ve lost some fat too I think.

Well the DOMS from my first Friday session didn't really hit until Sunday afternoon.

I woke up Saturday and managed a road bike ride with my brother (17 miles) which was fine, so thought i was going to be alright!

Back to the Gym tonight to check out some 1RM at current strength for all lifts to then base where I kick off my SL/Madcow from again, wish me luck..

First session back at the gym. Starting stringlifts 5x5 from the beginning so nice and light, not doing any extra stuff afterwards at the moment so I can get in and out.

It was quiet but it was Sunday so unsurprising. They seem to have got rid of all the spare Olympic bars which is annoying. I'll be going after work on Tuesday which will be the real test as to whether it's worth going back yet or not.

Got some nice DOMs today even though I was lifting super light. The butt wink is back which is unsurprising, honestly can't remember how I fixed it last time.

2 1/2 hour leg session nearly killed me today. Genuinely, I nearly passed out on my fourth set of front squats on the way down. I’m starting to question front squats after back squats now the lifting weight is getting heavier. Then as ever I finished off with barbell calf raises.

Took me a few hours to recover. No wonder Tuesday shoulder day suffers. I need to crack on though, no time for rest this week looking at the weekend temperatures. Even Thursday is looking sketchy for deadlifts.

Im monitoring my weight daily now - really like my ‘active era’ scales and app. Adds a good dimension to training. Wish I had been using it pre-lockdown. Belt is the loosest it’s been for quite some time.
