Same! The more weight I put on though, the longer I have to cut for. I ended up cutting over 7kg last year but it took a good few months and it was not fun at all.

In some ways, I really enjoy figuring out what my body needs. I just wish it needed more. :p

I lost 12kg last year. I dieted form 77kg down to 65kg between April and July. Now I'm 72kg but my jeans are still big and baggy... :D

I wish I could put weight on quickly. My shakes now have whole milk, whey, peanut butter, more nuts - I'm drinking additional milkshakes, snacking on things like mini rolls, full English breakfasts, having takeaways and I'm still struggling. My 6 days workouts with several 2-3 hour stints don't help weight gain. I dread getting unwell because I know the weight will fly off.

I guess the grass is always greener!

I'd be fine with 1.6kg in a week if that was all muscle. :)

I wish I didn't put on weight quickly, it's ridiculous how quickly it I put it on and how long it takes to get off :D

Main goal for at least next 6 months is weight loss so will train accordingly.

After getting fairly fit a couple of years back(lost 6 stone) I shall be back on the trail again this year as I got porky again. Dont really do much other than your usual lifting workouts 3 or 4 times a week. :)

Yes, but fortunately well before the workout and not all of the shake!

I had visions of it arriving mid squat :D

Where are we at right now? You had crazy numbers last I remember and were storming back from an injury.

Deadlift and squat are still great, maybe even stronger than ever and bench is pain free at the minute but has a long way to go to catch up.

Hoping for a 300 triple on the squat and a 310 triple on deadlift at the end of these 4 weeks. Should be within striking range of it if all goes well :)

Bench is just no pressure, see where it goes and stick to the rehab:)

Haha, fortunately not. I try to leave enough time after eating so that it won’t happen, but I’ve come pretty close after deadlifts, certainly after a big set.

Crazy numbers, even before I read the bit about triples

Been working my way back up as I have been off for a couple of weeks. Did a light set of deadlifts yesterday, 140KG for 10, trying to get back up in to the 200KG range, feels far away but hopefully it will come back fast!

The gym was a grim grim place last night. Crazily busy. New faces in groups just having a chat. I swear one group chatted the whole time I worked out and I never once saw them lift a weight. At least it eases through the week. I never quite understand the January obsession.

Yea Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are mental in my gym at the minute, since before Christmas thanks to their new year new you promotion with December free :/

Thankfully we have most of our own equipment not :) I'm awaiting our new comp rack coming back from the powder coaters and then we're effectively just renting a space on the gym floor :D

Looking to start training again. Having just moved to the UK trying to figure out what gyms are best. The gym group is really close to home and cheaper than most but does that make it a lot busier ? I hate waiting for benches/weights/machines

Do you own/run the gym?

I'm not an exceptional athlete or anything even remotely near, but owning a strength training gym really appeals to me. There's a big patch of land nearby that seems to be doing nothing. It's formally had some sort of industry on it, but it's now basically wasteland. It would be awesome to start a gym there, but I imagine it's very costly and I've no experience even running a business, never mind a gym.

I've had this thought, too... but iron gyms are difficult to make money from; you need cardeeyoh! to win (which strikes me as weird, because weights are specialist equipment that need investment, but anybody can do cardio on a bike/road)...

Our gym car park is full, its huge and never usually full which says a lot at the moment. The weight area is busy, but nowhere near representative of the car park. They are all in the spin classes and have filled every piece of cardio equipment. Not only can they do cardio outside, although I get why in the winter they may not opt to, their body goals would also more likely be better met in the free weight area.

It always makes me chuckle when there is a queue at the door at 8am on a Sunday morning and they all rush to reserve their favourite bike for spin class, even though the class doesn't start for another 30 minutes - it always reminds me of sunbed reserving, but in a rather different way :p

I'd love to own and run a gym, but the initial startup must be costly.

My gym is massively successful despite being meathead focused, but it is the most outer London branch of the Muscleworks brand who own a few gyms and not just 'any' gym. It killed off the other much smaller lifting gym in town... just needs more parking really but you can see why I go there rather than saving money and just using the Pure Gym in town along with the one by my work.

EDIT - now got a 4th hack squat, Watson reverse hyper + assisted Nordic curl and donkey calf raise upstairs to with the other rare bits like the Pitshark belt squat.
