Getting this and will add the new 4870 card when its out looking good? Already got the hard drives btw

thank you very much :)

what do you think now?

I put that WD 640GB drive in there for a very good reason... you should always have the OS drive and the storage seperate... having a single 1TB drive for a high-end system with OS and all your data on it is a recipe for disaster.

Also i'd still get rid of those speakers for £50... it's an unecessary waste imo.... let people sort their own out

Id rather have the DFI mobo with the extra saved. For only a tenner extra the DFI X48 should be the primary choice over the ASUS X48.

And finally... the Thermalright 120 Extreme + Yate Loon 120mm fan (didn't realise OCUK had those before) would be my choice over a Tuniq... the performance would be a bit better.

I still also think the keyboard etc should be left out of the build... people generally have those anyway and you should be concentrating on the budget going towards the quality of the major parts.

Just my opinion. :)

understood, but this was a whole build, rather than a tower build.

thats why i had to compramise else where.

RizL4 IMO get 4GB of pc6400 instead.

400x9 = 3.6GHz. you wont get much more outa the Q6600

you can partition the F1 drive for OS

and i would have the TRUE aswell, just, most people looking for a rig here, wont be bothering with lapping

What brand?

Just to be even more annoying I also certainly wouldnt be buying an NV based mobo and DDR3 on a Tower £1250 build either... it would be X48 and 4GB of uber DDR2 all the way. And also again you've put a single 500GB Samsung there F1... any particular reason why? The WD 640GB are only £5 more and much more reliable as well as better specced... and you should have a storage drive on there too, especially as theres no speakers etc to worry about.

That's why threads like this are so difficult...people are going to disagree or pick at all the builds.:D

yes 8GB, manic, i have said before, i do not have HTPC experiance, i'd be more then glad if someone would do it for me ;)

and richdog, im contemplating of doing a ddr/dd3 for the £1250. as i know a lot of people come on here saying they want their systems to last a good 2-3 years.
