Was wondering though - why no OS's included in the costs?

Not everyone needs an OS with the PC, some already have their own copy, some will use a free OS such as Linux and some have other sources (academic/work etc). The Full Systems that shaffaaf27 has put together do include OSes that I can see but for the others they are just meant to be a system box only really.

shaffaaf27, after a quick squint I can't see anything too obvious requiring changed, most of the changes would be personal preference anyway.

updated :)

and i have included OS for a FULL system, as a FULL system would need an OS. just remember, i am not forcing you to buy exactly what i gave. everyone would have their own tailored specs, im just giving an all rounded guide of what can be achived with set budgets, and was hoping it would make people come here for ideas, and post here if they wanted something tailored :)

The motherboard supports Crossfire (albeit at 16x and 4x) so if you added a second graphics card it could only be to drive a second monitor rather than as SLi.

The PSU is fine for the system as it stands and for adding a couple of hard drives or a bit of overclocking and a low powered graphics card but if you wanted to use dual 8800GT cards then you need a higher wattage PSU but then you'd also need to change the motherboard and then you are getting into the realms of creating a new system entirely.
