THE 50K CHALLENGE: NEW MUSTANG ON THE WAY, BUT WOULD 50K BE BETTER SPENT ON ANOTHER MARQUE?

I’ll take them off your hands for a cheeky £150 :)

But seriously they are pretty bad when the roads are slightly moist. I almost stacked it on a roundabout as the back tyre lost grip.

My 530d came on PZero's and I also found them to be bizarrely lacking in the most normal of situations - pulling away from junctions etc. I've swapped the rears to Eagle F1 A3's now and its far better.

There is a new model PZero now which seems to be far better. Helpfully its almost impossible to tell them apart and they both have the same name.

A set of PS4S in 235/35/19 isn’t close to £1K more about £650 to £700 if you shop around , add another £30-40 fitted and balanced

Hmm I'll have a think about it once I've had a chance to explore the handling of the P-Zeros.

My biggest fear with changing the tyres is always that they'll damage the rims in the process. Maybe unfounded paranoia but can anyone recommend trustworthy tyre places in the Midlands area for future reference? Don't mind travelling a bit for guaranteed good service. I'm thinking the opposite end of the scale from Kwik-fit lol :D

EVO seemed to rate the "PZ4" variant in their latest tyre test, coming in second overall behind the Michelin.

I have no idea what variant is on mine and I ain't going out into the snow-pocalypse to check :p

And they ALWAYS do :(

I don't want these lovely things damaged!!

I have two wonderful inch long identical marks in each of my rear wheels. First time tyre fitting equipment had ever been anywhere near them. Now need to get them all refurbished

The garage that does mine has me inspect the wheels with the fitter and note on a printout where any existing damage is before he starts. It's just a non premier one from blackcircles but I go there all the time now. It can be little things that count.

That's the kind of place I'm looking for! Who are they exactly?

Harris motor company in cobridge. Only 1 bay, nothing fancy but Been going years. I just made a point first time I went there of how annoying fitters who damage wheels are, since my old mans had to be diamond cut fresh after a visit to Formula1.

ALWAYS get the fitter to inspect the wheel with you when there before having a tyre fitted. Rule 101.

Yeah I always tell them the wheels are pristine and they'd better not damage them. They're obviously used to the average customer not really checking nor caring and the idea is to put them on notice that I will, in the hope they'll take a bit more care.

Thus far it seems to have worked but I always have heart palpitations when tyres are being changed. It's even worse now with diamond cut wheels as they're not easy to refurb so you'll end up with a bodge job and an endless dispute with the fitter, even if they have admitted fault.

Thanks I'll bear them in mind.
