I think Far Cry often gets forgotten about because it was the first of the 'next gen' engines which came out in 2004, ie FC/D3/HL2. But IMO despite being over 2 years old now, it is arguably still the best engine around. Decent performance, fantastic visuals indoors and out, support for HDR, SM2.0b/3 and 64bit. Crank up the settings and Far Cry looks fantastic, and is a top game to boot.

Half the time I end up spinning out of control when taking off. At least I managed to find a few good freeware models to fly.

Been playing some more GRAW. This time with my new X1900XTX. Runs better and it lets me choose a highest detail settings

I'd say it has a metal gear solid look to it.
