That wouldnt make a bad mod/gametype actually. Would be like CTF or CSS DE maps, one side defends a vital base and the others must assault it, occupy long enough to plant a bomb (5 mins) then get the heck out

A game mode like that should've been included with Special Forces, but you know EA.

Yes, not anticipating a half baked idea 8 months later on a forum. Damn them.
Seriously though, never had a complaint about bf2 conquest mode myself. If you want bomb planting play cs, the bf series' game mode is what makes its gameplay unique.

How is it half-baked? It's an established game mode in the FPS genre.

I don't have any complaints about the conquest mode either, but what's the point in adding a game modes tab to the in-game server browser if the game is still only going to have one game mode over a year after release? It's all good releasing all these expansion packs with new maps and whatnot, but it's still the same old roundabout of flag-capping when there could be tons of good game modes in a game as complex as Battlefield 2.

I have no complaints with the game, in fact it's my favourite game, my complaint is with EA doing half a job as always recently.

I think that DiCE did an excellent job on Battlefield 2 despite EA's best efforts to, well, be themselves.

Oh I did, and they always do these days, but DiCE created what is essentially a fantastic basic online game. Before EA swallowed DiCE completely we were always told that new game modes and other important add-ons were coming, but really the game looks like it is just going to stagnate under a pile of downloadable maps until Battlefield 2142.

Great game, great development, bad publishing and business planning.

I've played bf2 and closely monitored ea's and dice's comments since the day it came out and remember nothing of the sort.
BF2 has been and still is a great fun game, EA have done a bit of experimenting with their online strategy on the back of peoples almost fanatical love for the game but, so what? The game costs 30 quid, and just about everybody i know who plays it has had hour upon hour of fun out of it. How many games that you have bought have you got as much playtime out of as you have bf2? Course, some people just can't get enough free stuff i guess.

Btw EA have monitored the ea bf2 forums and based upon the community feedback have constructed an online shooter that would give the average bf player absolutely nothing to complain about. Only problem is that nobody would play it.

Stop putting words into my mouth and looking for a fight where there isn't one, I am beginning to regret taking you off my ignore list for this behaviour.
