lost planet demo

im having major probs with my rig atm (again - <sigh>) got 1gig of ram in that i stole from my mates dell pc and i think my cpu buggered, after playing this demo, had a few probs, now my cpu wont clock past 3.1 :eek: so ill buy a new one next friday along side replacement ram (god love payday)

as for the demo, it crashes as soon as i take 10 or so steps into either of the levels, im not sure whether this is a sli bug or the fact ive only got 1gig of ram and running everything MAX at 1600x1200 (16xaa + af, also tried 4 on both, still crashes). Im getting about 40-70 frames outdoor.

so, come next weekend ill have a new cpu going at 3.6+ and 4 gig of ram again.... then ill have some results for you. If anyone could let me know if the sli is a glitch, would be awsome.

download the 160.03's drivers to stop it crashing

sorry to take a couple of days to reply...its a very cool game, gameplay is very similar to SH3 though you have a much larger area to cover.

you also get side-missions such as inserting a spy or a photo-recon.

the changes are largely cosmetic...the ocean and weather effects are simply stunning...almost every time i fire up the game i see something new and have to pick my jaw off the floor.

as with the recent SP1 for the microsoft flightsim X, the game was hugely improved by the patch when it came out.

you can play it at any difficulty level, so for full immersion you have to make manual calculations and feed them into the targeting computer before you let the torpedoes go, but for me the tension is when i'm in 200 feet of water listening to a few destroyers pinging the sub trying to get a fix...very effective during a late night gaming sesh...a very good game if you fancy a change of pace...think of das boot the film: ages where not a lot happens followed by 2 hours of extreme anxiety :cool: :D

are the ships in EVE supposed to be carrying thousands of people (in the storyline anyway) or am I supposed to believe you - the player is the only person onboard that entire vessel?

yeh runs pretty good, new service pack made a lot of difference, uses both cores now :)
