The Air Rifles & Pistols thread

Anyone used the Hatsan BT65 range at all? Was looking at a Hw100 26lbs but the Hatsan is cheaper and kicks out a fair bit more... Will be . 22

Needs to be capable of knocking over pheasants.

Well for the HW100 26ft lbs you will need a firearms certificate and a slot for FAC Air. So unless you already have a certificate and fancy putting in for a variation for FAC AIR then otherwise its a no go.

I haven't shot a Hatsan 65 (have used an AT44 which was ok for low end-ish) so can't really comment on it. I have shot the HW100 and it's a beast, a bit heavy but a beautiful made and engineered beast.

You pay for quality with the HW100
 
I assume the FAC Air just refers to it being a air rifle over 12ft/lbs in the UK.

I'm in Jersey and we require a Fire Arms Cert for all air rifles. I'll need a variation on my cert anyway to get an air rifle.

The BT65 seems to have had good good reviews and a fair bit cheaper than the HW100

Yeah that was what i meant anything over 12ftlbs. Didnt know Jersey folks needed a cert for air rifles.. looks like Scotland will be joining you soon!

Have a look at the Airarms S410 FAC variant. It's a nice rifle and not as expensive as Weihrauch
 
Top one looks nice, how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?

Also are the button 2 Hatsans? I have the semi in Marine (basically silver) like your action all the way through, I like bling, for a cheap gun it shoots well, good for skeet as well.

Top is a 25 year old Bettinsoli, no real value to it and I was given it.
Middle is an Escort which I've added the MPA stock and foregrip to.

The bottom one is a Beretta Technys, and is the only one that is actually worth anything!

Sounds like he is potentially breaking the law, as any misses or over penetrations will exit his boundary and be a risk of causing harm or damage. If you get on well just have a chat but if he is the sort to get upset over any suggestion his actions may be antisocial, then defintely report him.

Edit: Odd, didn't see Luke's response when I posted this. My eyes must be getting old.

There's no potential about it, he is breaking the law if the pellet passes his boundry or if hes shooting them off a fence which isn't his. Importantly his disregard for safety, a good backstop and the general shooting form is poor. It's people like him who give airgunners a bad name and tarnish the sport.

Have a quiet word in his ear about your concerns and the law and hopefully he will be reasonable.

If not, report to the fuzz.
