The Air Rifles & Pistols thread

What Mark said above the 55 and 65 have much better triggers than the 900x and again re pellets, my old bsa meteor hates every pellet ive fed it so far except rws superdomes so far. My nemesis hates rws superdomes, likes accupells and ive just found out it loves jsb exacts this weekend

Well i was down the range today and there was a fun "Halloween Cuddly Toy Murder Shoot".

First 10 mins was with airguns then the shotguns came out. A 12 gauge semi auto Hatsan Escort, Baikal break barrel 410 and a Remington 870 Magnum pump action 12 gauge.

That looks like fun! Seems a great club that. Really need to look into what is on offer near me in Rossendale as it gets a bit boring just plinking in the garden.

Decided to fully strip my Tomahawk stock as the danish oil i applied went sticky due to it not soaking in properly. Not sure what the finish was that was on the stock, but seemed like some sort of coloured wax oil.

Managed to get this tru oil kit free as I had some nectar points and a £10 voucher on ebay from selling something before the end of october. Just hope it does a good job. I'm after a satin, hand rubbed look, which is apparently achievable if you use the stock sheen and conditioner after oiling.

Make sure you knock the finish back after each application of the oil with some 0000 wire wool, only lightly.

Edit: Yeah the air gun club are a good bunch and its a very much "do the best we can with what we have" kinda place as its low facility, being in an old railway tunnel.

If you buy 'mail order' from a dealer in the UK, you can often arrange for the item in question to be sent directly to a local RFD (Registered Firearms Dealer) from where you can collect it 'face to face'... although he will almost certainly want to charge you for the privilege of doing so!

It it not therefore surprising why so many folk chose to order from abroad these days, especially from countries within the EU, and save themselves quite a bit of money also.

Anyone ever go shooting? Just recently joined the local HFT club (biggest in Scotland I believe), and will hopefully be getting an AA S400 next month. Aiming to do a little vermin control on the family farm too (rabbits, crows & rats!). Would be interested to hear if others here do any kind of shooting :)

I got shooting but with a .22 rifle 5.56mm rifle and a 12 gauge over & under. Mostly rabbits, pigeons etc but also deer on the estate.

Ah, I recognise that tunnel - just off Porchester Road. Reminds me of Black Mesa East whenever I go there!

No, it didn't come from Poland, but it probably would be classed as a 'plinker'! :

Having a bit of fun with it down at a local gun club.

As you can see, I'm not much of a photographer... sorry about the background!

Nice. One of the guys down the club had one of them for his little nephew. I had a couple of goes as you do, and it was really quite nice to shoot.
the Nephew was soon making the 30mm 30yard spinners dance.

Went through a few CO2 capsules though :)
