The Air Rifles & Pistols thread

The magazine is a nice feature, but it isn't all that great. The extra single shot tray is a blessing. But the option is nice.

Now they're making the single shot with the bolt on the left, with hindsight I think I would have bought one instead and saved a few quid.

I'm thinking of getting one of these. Anyone heard of them? Is it some dodgy Chinese thing that's going to catch fire?

A word of warning , their website says the pistol is less than 17 joules...which is 12.53 ft lbs and is rather a broad statement.

Uk legal air rifle limit is 12ft lbs and air pistol is 6 ft lbs. If i were you i would check what "under 17J " actually is unless you want to import an illegal firearm and spend a few years in the nick

It's the single shot version of the one I posted a few posts above. Quite taken with mine, triggers single stage and has quite a bit of creep but a couple of o rings sort that. All in all for for below £50 it's a fun pistol. If your worried about the manufacturer (spa) you could always give air force or smk £150ish for it with their name on it :p

Personally I think that SPA are one of the better Chinese 'brands'.

Although a lot of folk are ordering their CP1's from the Siliesa factory in Poland, their shipping costs to the UK are a bit on the high side.

I have just ordered one from Krale Schietsport in The Netherlands, who ship promptly on the same, or next, day by UPS.

The total cost of a SPA CP1-M (multishot) model, which also comes with a single shot adapter, was £84 including a small credit card fee. Their website is all in English too, which I find useful, and they quickly reply to emails also! :)

Will try and post a picture, together with initial reactions, when it is delivered tomorrow... it is currently at Barking, in the UK!

The Truoil kit I posted about above worked amazingly well, really impressed with it. The kit seems expensive, but there must be 80%- 90% off the oil and stock conditioner left. You could easily do a few stocks with a kit.

I found that applying the oil with a small piece of the material they provide worked the best. A few drops on the cloth and then applied a very thin layer over the stock and left to dry. In the instructions and online i saw comments about using your fingers to apply it, but i couldn't get anywhere near as good a finish as I did with the material.

Put about 6 coats on, knocking back with some 0000 wire wool in-between as HybridX suggested and the final coat was ultra smooth. It was way too shiny for my liking, so i knocked the final coat back carefully with the 0000 wire wool, then used the stock sheen and conditioner. Its like a very fine abrasive compound and just took the glossy finish off and blended it all into a nice deep satin. Absolutely perfect finish and exactly what I was after.

I tried getting some pics, but couldn't seem to capture it properly. it just looked like the before pic lol.

I havnt been into Airpistols/Rifles in a few years but I really like the look of that CP1-M. Would be really interested in your opinions on it mate. After an hour or so reading up on it I think a silencer would be a good buy to go with it also?

Anyone could recommend an Airsoft/bb shotgun-like? My Mrs has started shooting a while back with a 20 bore, but I think we could use something non-lethal that is roughly the right shape/weight and still shoot stuff -- for practice/training purpose mostly.

I've found "A&K Full Metal M870 Pump Action Shotgun (Wood)" for around a 100 quid, that's the closest I've seen to a 'shotgun' in that sort of things.

Personally, I'd prefer something more air/pellet based, but I didn't find anything really close to what i'm looking for.

They're completely different things so I'm afraid I wouldn't say you're going to get any benefit from practising. You're best off finding a local clay club and going from there to be honest (also, if she can handle a larger gun, move to a 12 :))

Anyone tried the Sig Sauer P226 co2 pistol?

I have an Umarex Beretta, Smith and Wesson revolver and a CP88, but find them a little boring to shoot as there is no recoil. So have been looking into getting a blowback Co2 gun and the Sig Sauer caught my eye.

Also liking the look of the upcoming Sig c02 semi auto rifles. I think i'll wait for the PCP version in the hope it'll be higher power and more consistent. It could actually be a very fun rifle in PCP form.
