*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

Silly question probably, i want an iPad, even though it's missing a lot of stuff but i can't be bothered to wait for version two, one thing.

Friends go to america every month, a lot cheaper to get it out there, any problems with use over here though?

nope

No difference at all except obviously it comes with a US plug.

and 17.5% VAT and 5% import duty when you bring it back. But if you were to toss the packaging you could claim you bought in UK and took on your trip.

Customs aint stupid but youre unlikely to be stopped and searched ;)

Well if its in your suitcase and your flying back in..... their not going to "OMG AN IPAD - TAKE THAT BAG"

same here, on the odd occasion it does ask for the password it still won't connect so now I just go straight to toggle the wifi off and back on.

I'm getting this on my friends WiFi too. Oddly though, his own iPad doesn't exhibit the same problem.
Works fine on my own WiFi.

It would be in a suitcase, i'm not going america, but my girlfriends friends are going so i doubt they will open my little gift and play with it!

I have an itouch already, i can just use that cable to plug into it no?

The more I'm using my iPad, the more I'm wishing I'd bought a 64GB 3G model.
Anyone else finding that they wish they'd bought a higher model?

Nope :) Happy as Larry with my 32GB WiFi only one. Video is the only thing that would make me think I'd got insufficient memory but even my 32GB is good for a few programmes. Enough for my need for now.

I was thinking opposite thinking I would use one at home more than out n about and hence aim for Wifi model Likewise if I can stream from my NAS then a 16gb would be fine..

Horses for courses I guess ;)

I bough the 32gb 3G on launch day and i loved it that much and though it through 2 days later took it back and swapped for the 64mb 3G and i am glad i have now.. As i need th space for movies and my wide collections of photos of our new born to shoe people as slide show..

So to answer your question i glad I Did change it while I could...

Not even remotely. I've got the 32gb Wi-Fi iPad and would have no use for the 3G as I only intend on taking this out to places with free wi-fi anyway. 32gb is lots, even 16gb is enough if you're careful.

Apps like Air Video and Dropbox totally negate the reasons you'd need a 64gb model imo.

Got to agree. I actually regret getting the 32GB when I could have easily got away with the 16GB.

What are people using to sync photo to ipad are you arranging them in iphoto or????

As to selecting what you want on ipad for the slideshow

Just use Dropbox. Free app. Install it on iPad and then download the desktop client on your pc. It gives you 2gb of storage for free. Upload your pics and the app will let you view (and save) them on the iPad.
