*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

Can't see it being a problem really.. There extremely easy to use - as the iphone is - with a bit of practise

Though what they using it for? Like browsing? If anything the problem would be typing i would have thought

Email, browsing, books, skype etc. No gaming other than perhaps a crossword or suduku.
I was showing them the iPhone today and they seemed interested. The problem is my dad is a fiddler.. he can install linux etc but I want something that they can use without him being able to fiddle with it and just works.

The iPhone has accessibility options (such as large fonts) but I was wondering how the apps such as iBooks etc work with larger lettering etc.

ok, just put a screen protector on. PITA !

Bottle half has about 10 small fibres....:(

and miss aligned it but half a mm to the right and it has a "lift" on the top left.

What's the best screen protector for the iPad? I've still got the plastic on mine and although it's surviving so far I know at one point it's going to have to come off :(

Power Support Anti Glare, its only avaliabel from their site from the states.

I am using some cheap freebie with a case. I'll leave it on there until it really bugs me.

well considering the only button takes you to the menu which is so easy to navigate around :)

can't comment as I've not got one. But I'm sure I saw Steve jobs just zoom in using the 2 finger 'pinch' when reading his favourite book :p
so surely it would work just like safari with the zooms - can't see quality being a problem.

Drag them or yourself into the pc shop what sells them ;)

Well coming up to a month of having mine and still very much in love with it! Very much a bed centric browsing experience, oh and the john!

Anyone got any ideas on some good 'task' programs.
The 'Todo' app looks good, but at £11.99 its a little pricy.

ToDo's only a couple of quid isn't it? Sure you're not looking at Things?

Anyways, Things is the one I use as I got sick of waiting for OmniFocus. Tried ToDo as well, but I didn't like the faux-binder look.

Question: Any way to sync iPad bookmarks and bookmarks in Firefox or Chrome or IE WITHOUT syncing the iPad - ie. automatically when using it?

I use Xmarks on Chrome and FF and it works well but Apple won't allow Xmarks on iPad/iPhone (grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr¬!)

Sorry, should have said, "without paying the stupid money that Apple wants to charge for MobileMe"

;)
Are you serious? £5.00 a month for instant wireless sync of your e-mail, calendars, address books, notes and bookmarks across your laptops, PCs and iPhone is "stupid money"?

How much do you pay for a pint of beer?

How much did you pay for your Apple hardware...? ;)

I don't pay for beer... don't drink it :) just cos you think something may be worth a price doesnt mean everyone does. I'm a fan of Linux too ;)

I'm trying out MobileMe at the moment and I'm really not sure it's worth the money.
I use AtomicWeb for browsing which can sync with Firefox in a couple of clicks.
I use FlickrStackr for photos (Flickr Pro account)
I use dropbox for file storage
I use gmail for mail

So, with that lot, I don't think I'll pay after the 60 day trial. The only advantages I really see are the ability to locate my phones and the 20GB storage.

I'd maybe think more of it if the iPad apps for MobileMe photos and file storage were native iPad apps, but they aren't.
