Did anyone purchase an iPad via TopCashBack or Quidco? I know the Apple site says it won't give cashback for iPad's and my initial transaction came back as £0.00 but I just got an email to say they have tracked a purchase for £365(iPad - VAT) and it's £10.95 cashback.

Wonder if this one will stick or go to £0.00 like it did when I ordered the iPad on release day! This is for an iPad that was pre-ordered for day of release.

Well I typed out 'HD' on the YouTube search and all the HD vids I looked at were HD and were fine. No probs my end on wifi.

Well after trying to get one for over a month, my local retailer finally had a 3g version in stock, it was the 64gb so I thought why not :D

Only had a quick 10 minute play but I really like it already. My only slight disappointment with it is I feel that I have been spoiled by the iPhone 4 screen as I found myself looking at every icon thinking hmmm this doesn't look so sharp.

Looking on itunes store now. Can't see one under iPad apps, just a silly chat for facebook. The normal iphone one though says its compatible with iPad so you could use that or i guess the fb mobile website

I think the next iPad will have a higher res (probably retina display) and the next focus will be weight reduction I reckon.

I've heard Facebook are working on something, but no idea when it'll be out. Can't find the source where I read it though..
 
I'm a primary school teacher and I'm considering buying an iPad for home and work. I think it will be really useful compared to the current set up we have (Old laptop and projector)

I think I could use the iWorks app daily and the Alice in wonderland app looks wonderful. Can anybody think of any pro's and cons to buying it for this purpose. My class are wonderful and wouldn't damage or take it. Thanks
 
I think if you have the iPad in a case, like an Apple Case then it should be safe enough, even with kids.

I have not tried iWorks and I am not sure how it can link to the projector though...

You could get the kids to try and write stuff on it ;) or something, numbers if its maths or whatever lol ;)

One of my school teachers, well i've left now but anyway!

He had some sort of 'touch screen device' what linked to his laptop to the electronic smart boards. Makes things so much more fun. And yer im with you!

Still need to ring the apple store and see if they have any stock and if so when will they etc... im guessing you can do that
 
do we have to keep all ipad chat in here ? that's a bit silly as topics will just get lost. :S ?
 
Can I ask how long people are getting on a charge..I guess maean with heavy usage is it every day or few days before it has to be charged..also is it as slow charging as I have heard ??

I think I am going to get the 32gb 3g version...any one have the apple ipad case idf so any good ???
 
It does seem to take a while to charge, but easily done over night.
I have not monitored battery life to much, but I would say I am easily getting 10 hours plus +.

I mainly use it for reading books, bit of surfing and IM. Only charge it once or twice a week. Its great.

The word on the apple case just appears to be that its thin and rather flimsy. Gathers dust like hell, not great for protecting it.

I charge mine overnight, it does take a little while to charge to be honest.

I start using it at approximately half 8 and it'll pretty much stay on throughout the rest of the day.

I'd honestly say I can get a full 11 hours of constant usage before it hits about 10% - and then I turn everything on from time to time to completely flatten the battery.

Easily I'd say you'd get all day usage out of it.
 
Yay so finally got the funds for this now. Im after the wifi 16gb or 32.


No purple shops stock these. Tried stoke manchester nottingham birmingham liverpool.

What is the best way of getting one now? Asked to put on a list ot a local shop? Or buy from apples site?
