A certain PC selling warehouse on Fosse Park in Leicester had all six models in stock late last week (according to the hot Apple girl working the franchise in store). So it must be possible.
I reserved a 32gb at Apple in Leicester and it was in stock 4 days later, by which time I had bought a 64gb
Quick reply to a couple of comments on the last page :
The Facebook app is included, it's called Safari
you get the proper page even on 3G.
I'm steering clear of iwork a for the moment, due to the apparent difficulty of transferring your saved files to & from the iPad. Supposedly itunes doesn't do it, and reviewers have been resorting to third-party apps.
I don't know if you can just email your docs etc. to yourself. That'd do, but a proper sync would be better.
And I haven't had any problems with HD video playback on this device. The only problems I have with YouTube are A) enforced terrible quality when on 3G (thanks apple, give me an option for hires while on mobile - I have a good data plan) and B) "this video does not yet support iPad"

Tried out an iPad the other day in a shop, it was jailbroken for some reason!
Definitely getting a 32Gb Wifi+3G next time I'm in the UK, too expensive here (1000pounds for a 64Gb Wifi+3g!!).
Haven't seen many amazing apps yet though but I guess they will come with time. IM+ and Last.fm will be good when multitasking arrives.

The only information is 'fall' - which typically means September onwards. I'd be very surprised if it was as late as November.

I just got a "we don't know any sort of date when they will be back in stock, so best thing to do is just check the website on M, W , F

I got mine in a week from the apple store. You could easily be waiting that long for high street shops to get stock in.

Got mine yesterday (32gb Wifi) and its currently syncing a pile of apps and music etc. Still waiting for those screen protectors and case from auction site so the iPad is still in its plastic casing but its so much lighter than a laptop. Also the games are surprisingly good!
Applied the ZAGG Invisble Shield yesterday and it's lovely! Only put the back cover on at the moment as I didn't want to ruin the screen clarity/feeling with a protector, but I'm impressed. It feels sturdy, makes the back look better (glossy) imo, and actually feels like it'll protect the back from scratches.
I'll probably get a case for when I take it outside the house, but that's another eBay hunt I'll need to do at some point.

Did you get the Max Protection ZAGG shield?
No, I figured I wouldn't need the Max Protection one as it's likely to be a real pain to fit, and also it's usually in a case. At the moment I've got the back shield on, and I've got the front one still in the box. I might try and install the front and see what it's like to use, but I'm thinking it's going to ruin the clarity of the screen.

There were 4 showing and he managed to reserve one for me, so i will be picking it up tommorow
Now the challenge is to see how well you sleep. I know i couldn't with the excitement when i got mine reserved
