*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

Do I really want one of these if that's the sort of hassle it attracts? Might go for the Huwaei after all :p
Well.. its an apple product so it does

When i got my 1st gen ipod touch i got the same sort of thing. Not as much as obviously its not as noticeable (size)

When more people get them it will be fine :) Saw one other guy with one on the train

Does the 3G iPad support HSDPA?

Edit: Reading that it sounds like an incredibly stupid question :)
Edit2: Answered my own question by looking up the Apple specs (UMTS/HSDPA (850, 1900, 2100 MHz)

So to follow, any way I can see if it's on HSDPA?

Uh... went into Reading with it earlier. Sat at train station playing angry birds while i waited. Then me and a few mates were sitting around for a bit and its odd the amount of people go "is that an iPad?" then ask you questions about it and how much you paid etc etc.

On the train it was worse, had this Jamaican guy come upto us. And i could hardly understand him, he was asking a heap of questions like comparing it to laptops etc... then started asking us what we were doing tonight and stuff.. it got very weird hehe

Why do every single person ask you "is that an iPad?" And then it has to follow by "how you is it?"

It is like without fail.

Umm what ?

I had around 8 people ask me if I like it. A couple didn't ask the silly question they knew the answer for ("is that an iPad?")

Well, I just removed the ZAGG shield from my iPad. It feels horrible to the touch, and the corners didn't quite stick that well so came loose and attracted all sorts of dust/crap.

Probably good if you like the plastic see-through dinner table placemats you used to get when you were a lad, but otherwise, not the kind of product I'm after.

Instead, I've decided I'm going to order the Rebel Nude case for the iPad.

Has anyone cut down a Vodafone SIM (from a 3G Dongle) to a Micro-SIM for use in their iPad?

Mine has been working perfectly fine for the last few weeks, and now suddenly, everytime I try to surf over 3G, it keeps sending me to a Vodafone page asking me to login. I figured at first it might be out of credit as it's one of the £15 never expiring SIM's, so I topped it up and I'm still having the same problem.

Anyone got any ideas?

I'm also interested in buying a basic slim, neoprene (or similar) slip case. Any tips? Seems like it's hard to find good ones!

How many people are successfully perfectly applied a screen protector? In the quest for perfection I've pretty much wasted 3 now. First one was on ok, had some air bubbles and some lint in the corners but the main screen area was fine. Left it like that for a few months now.

After watching youtube, I thought I'd give it another go. Seeing they can do it on camera first time perfectly I would be a bit more patient. First go seemed ok, but I could see dust/lint on the protector straight away as soon as I started to peel back the protective sheet for application.

Used the 2nd sheet that went well, almost perfect, apart from 1 side overlapped a little so there was always going to be a slight air bubble there. Saw 1 spec of dust near the middle, made the mistake of trying to get rid of it.

It was all downhill from there. Once you start peeling back to get dust/lint out it just gets worse and worse I've found.

Now its unprotected, apart from the case.:(

and if you did manage to get it on some what perfectly, they would still scratch. My screen protector is scratched to hell after a few weeks.

Waiting for the DoDo case so i can remove it and just use the case as protection.

I took 5 tries to get one on pretty much perfectly. There is a little bit at the very edge, off the actual display, that has a minute air bubble.

So much harder than the one I got on, first time, on my phone :D
