*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

did you try putting the bundlebox address for billing?

Yes, although it still failed.

I suppose I could try ringing Barclays and getting them to add the US address as a verified billing address but honestly I couldn't be bothered earlier when I tried it.

Maybe later though..

I take it the news has brought a price increase at auction as well then? A couple of days ago the prices were the same as Bundlebox if not better, plus you were buying an item that was already in the UK.

Just put in a concierge order via viaaddress.com (they buy on your behalf, you pay them via PayPal).

They're offering $30 DHL/Fedex shipping to the UK, so even if you get stung with import duty it works out cheaper than Bundlebox.

EEEEEEeeee :D

What's that work out at then?

I can get a 16GB for £499 elsewhere, just not pulled the trigger.

That does sound cheap - any idea of a delivery date?

5-7 days from Apple -> viaaddress, then depends on the shipping method I choose. The $30 shipping method is Fedex Express Priority (2 to 3 days)

I would say 14 days to my door.

Good find, going to do the same!

What did you put on the concierge form for 'type of shipping' when ordering?

Edit:

Scratch that, they're not accepting concierge orders on ipads it says now. /sadface

It didn't say that earlier.. hmmm.

Will email them now.

How do they avoid getting stung by customers?

What would the customs be on something like a 500$ ipad

The apple store just took my order with a UK Visa card and a Bundle Box address
I have an order no, and it says order is processing, and will get an email notification shortly.

Hmm I don't like that, although it makes the most sense on their part I prefer amazons style, I ordered some speakers which they charged me for claiming they were in stock, in actuality I had to wait 2 odd months for them to be shipped and they never tried to get in touch at any time before i did.
