*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

I use a mifi with my ipad and found it is fine. Advantage too is that you can put where the signal is stronger if you are in a weak signal area.
What exactly do you mean by that :S?

"Put where the signal is stronger" Its not like you can just leave it somewhere and within the short distance connect the iPad to it :)

Also what package you on? Would rather not pay for the 5GB but 1GB just won't do for a month I reckon.

guys anyone know were I can get one of these MiFi devices that are not locked to any carriers sims ?

I have a vodafone i want to put in it atm but might go for a 3 one later on.

I got a mifi over the weekend. Works really well and my only complaint about Three so far is the signal down the West Coast Mainline. Vodafone is much better, Three signal was very patchy on the rail line. Everywhere else it's been great though. I've just gone for 1GB PAYG to start with, I'll work out which tariff is best later on when I've got an idea of how much I'm using.

Is the mifi locked to 3?

Don't know really... I have a feeling its not but it makes sense that it is! I know 3 have a online help chat you could ask on there, though they would most likely say yes either way. I could try using it with my Virgin phone sim when mine arrives on Wednesday.

Went for the 5GB sim only 1month contract so.

Vodaphone seem to do their own mifi type of device though it costs more. Only 3GB for £15 p/m, 5gb costs £25 though you get the modem for free.

I'm interested to get one of these for when I go to the States later next month but it will only be worthwhile if it's unlocked. Otherwise I'll just get one from there.

Hopefully as I will be getting two £10 three accessories vouchers since I bought my myfi (presuming I can use two vouchers on one order) I will be purchasing Griffin's Screen Care Kit which is worth £20 and hopefully fit it perfectly and as its Griffin I hope it will feel ok and out out on the glare etc

Though on amazon its only £11

I would like to ask you all how are you syncing your main desktop email and your email on your iPad? I had a crazy day trying to sort this out to no avail :(
I.e. going POP route or IMAP route etc... but tbh, it gave me such a headache trying to sort it out...

Could any of you tell me how you have setup your desktop/iPad email system? Thanks :)

I just popped in my username and password and away it went. It picked up all the settings automatically.

Not quite sure what you mean :S?

I just load up the mail app, my emails get downloaded when I have a connection. If i delete one when I check on Windows Live Mail its then been deleted. If i leave it alone it stays there.
