So using drop box you can read pdfs via iBooks?
(if theyre transfered onto Drop box?)

Yes. There is a button in the top right corner when you view the PDF in Dropbox which says open in iBooks. It then transfers the PDF to your iBooks library and it appears on your shelf. I also bought Goodreader and another PDF reader initially, but don't use either now I have discovered this trick.

Does Goodreader offer any further functionality over iBooks? It's recommended all the time but I'm not sold on whether it's worth buying.

Stupid question most probably but can we purchase a refurbed ipad from Apples american store? or would it fobb us off?

Im seriously thinking about buying an Ipad for going on holiday next week but the thing that worries me is the resale value of it when the newer version comes out whenever that may be, only looking at a 32GB wifi version as i have a Iphone 4 for when im out and about. buying something for £500 which may only be worth say £200 in 5 months time isnt a nice feeling lol but saying that though i dont HAVE to upgrade to the new version straight away when its released

Matt

Older iPod touches and iPhones hold thee value well, so I don't see why the iPad wont. Just look around the auction places and on here.

Tried a 1.5gb 720p vid on VLC but no dice. Got a msg upon firing up the vid stating that my iPad was too slow to play the video, but I could continue if I wanted. Film consisted of a ton of artifacts as the hardware couldn't decode quick enough.

Xvid's worked fine though, so I'm happy.

How do you guys get the avi's on to the ipad? Or more important what folder? lol
Using apps such as cinexplayer, vlc player etc. Download the app. Go onto apps on iTunes when iPad is plugged in. Scroll down and it says like sharing and your see the app you downloaded there. On the right it will say 'add'
Any particular reasons why?
Not sure really. I guess because even when i tried to play a mkv the app still opened, it just told me it wouldn't work. And for some reason i prefer the player.

And I've had it for over a month so :p

So, i was stuck in a lift earlier for 20 mins at college.. hehe

So i pulled out the iPad and watched South Park... :D win

If you commute as often as I do (everyday), then you would not live without an iPad.

Train delay - iPad
Long journey - iPad
Waiting for the elevator - iPad !
Eating lunch alone - iPad

I have the the 3G one too, and on 3 Network which is amazing, I can pretty much get internet everywhere! Places where O2 and Orange has no signal.

I am sooooo getting the next one lol

I might upgrade to 3G for the next one. Depends how much of an upgrade it is, I'm not fussed about them adding a camera. WiFi only is turning out to not be as good an idea as expected, MyWi is flaky.
