*** The all new Apple iPad thread - Keep all iPad stuff in here ***

I use the VLC player all the time and it works fine? Watched 20 episodes of family guy and just loaded another 30 on there. Films work OK too. I dont have any 720p stuff though.

Works fine for me too and has played everything I have thrown at it (haven't bothered with 720p though because I have heard it isn't fast enough). Watched House on it yesterday evening :)

A note to anyone that orders an iPad data plan from three - when the sim card arrives it says that you need to call them to activate it, but actually if you order the sim online then this doesn't seem to be necessary.
When I rang I was told that mine was already activated.

What sort of speeds you get? E.G. speedtest app

Aha kk, need to look actually how much data i've used on my MiFi - 5gb/£15. If I haven't even used a GB ill change to 1GB/£10, (I think i can at least :P)

Order yourself one of the iPad SIM's from the Three website (£15 for 10GB), put it into your MiFi, boom. :D Works beautifully.

iPad sim is micro though. MiFi is full sim. And weird how a normal sim is half the amount of data...

Though if I'm not going through 5gb , no need for 10. Its only at college when I am using it really. And even then its not much. Will get use when I go to visit family, but that's not exactly loads :p

Splashtop: on app store, 59p atm.

WOW. So much better then team viewer. It could even be a alternative to air video.. It's quicker loading..
Check out this quality

It sends audio to the iPad and mutes pc speakers automatically.

You can get an adapter that takes a micros sim and makes it full size, like a blanking plate.

the electronics side of a Micro sim in no different to the full sim, it's just the plastic.

I went the other way and cut down (with nail Scissors) a full size SIM I had on contract for a Dongle that I used to use with my netbook and put that in my ipad

Taff

I was tempted to get this but I've only used Team Viewer maybe 4 times. It's only 59p though...
